And who indulged in "there is no day tomorrow" celebrations post the match that combined with all other incidents earned the wrath of both home as well as international cricket followers and even the legends like Neil Harvey? I think Ricky Ponting makes the cut.

And so does Micheal Clarke, his deputy, who refused to walk after edging a catch to first slip! And he was the one who took that debatable catch of Ganguly in the Sydney Test also Even if the second one does not count, the first one is enough to qualify as embarassing.

Agree with this, really surprised no one else has mentioned likes Ponting, Clarke, and few other Aussie playerss so far in this thread.

for now, i will start without match fixers. this is only because kickers/spitters/abusers are not the same as blatant cheats. i dont want to have them in any of my XIs. dont know how SS and others would react to my changing earlier stance. but here we go with version 1.0 of all time most embarassing/ immature XI

Anyone who has ever been guilty of match fixing should be the first to walk into this side. I have no clue whatsoever why that wouldn't be the biggest and most embarrassing thing for your country. Secondly should be those who did drugs and/or are racist bastards. And finally, it would be on field embarrassments that didn't involve those.

So you have: Malik, Azharuddin, Jadeja, Cronje, Ajay Sharma, Gibbs, Harbhajan, Asif, Akhtar, Warne, Lehmann.

There is your 11, and you don't even need to go to the Gavaskar, Miandad, Lillee, etc. Which are all very annoying, but nowhere near the embarrassment that those guys above are when they did it.

On the drugs, I don't give a **** what cricketers do in terms of steroids, but I realize people are embarrassed about that, otherwise I wouldn't have Warne and Asif in there. Akhtar remains for his steroids, plus his other shenanigans.

Irfan Pathan is the last guy you would want in this XI, there are about five Indians alone who'd be ahead of him. He isn't a Test class bowler, but he always gives it his all for the team, and is probably the nicest guys you will ever meet. It's utterly ridiculous to have him anywhere near this side.

All my opinion of course, but I take the term embarrassment to mean something a lot more serious than a couple heat of the moment things.

Everything I've read about the man screams out statesman, not just in the Bodyline series but in his general conduct as a cricketer and a person. Would be the second name after Worrell that I'd have on my list.
