Wick	5-0-25-0
Dove*	74 (61 balls)
Byron	99 (99 balls)
Last Wicket: Brydon b. Major 9 (FOW: 36/1)
Very happy with how Byron is going on debut, playing a 2nd XI here after getting rid of Vernon and bringing in Causon, Rodgers, Talbot and Byron for this game

No pops at all last week (IIRC...at least, nothing significant), and this week Buckley decides to TRIPLE pop!

Buckley (19yo a/r trainee) to Resp stamina, Strong batting and Strong concentration.
Marshall (17yo batting trainee) to Prof batting (already Prof conc) and Abysmal fielding.

I'm working on three trainees at the moment:

Buckley
19yo all-rounder trainee
Resp stamina
Strong/Strong batting/conc
Strong/Prof bowling/cons
Will most probably train him up to Quality batting and bowling, with cons/conc a level or two higher than that. There to balance the side, Buckley has done far better than expected in his first few big matches.

Mulryne
17yo batting trainee
Mediocre stamina
Strong/Resp batting/conc
One day, this chap will replace Sandwith as my star batsman. At least Exquisite, possibly Miraculous. Has a great big ginger beard :)

Marshall
17yo batting trainee
Feeble stamina
Prof/Prof batting/conc
He'll probably top out a level below Mulryne, but that's no bad thing.

There's also Fish, who's plodding along on a single batting net. As an Exceptional WK, I don't want to train him too high...probably to Sensational or so, which'll take another two seasons.

So, today's match. Fresh from defeat against Scaly and a tonking from Asterix, I'm playing some other team some of you might have heard of. "Pup...who?" they're called. They're batting, and 53/8 at lunch. I'm fielding very much a weakened team, in preparation for Friday's must-win match against The Tykes. Plan is to bowl them out cheaply (well, duh), score 360, then get it over with before the close of play tomorrow.

Dobson 13-0-67-0
Kemp* 45 (44 balls)
Read 110 (138 balls)

Last Wicket: Bartlett lbw b. Maitland 59 (FOW: 145/2)

First century for Read whilst playing for The Heath - I'm sure Nath will be pleased to see his former charge doing so well :)

State Vice-Captain
My "see who needs form and stick 'em in" batting order made a pretty slow start, not scoring at all during the opening four overs. Batt, who's really a bowler and #8, out for a duck (14 balls) and Carter, the other makeshift opener (and something of a ferret) still hasn't scored (20 balls). Marshall and Mulryne, proper batting trainees both, are in next.

Piercy's coming along nicely:

10. Darren Piercy - 18 yo, BT Rating=17,882
RH Batsman, LH Spin Bowler, superb batting form, strong bowling form, invigorated fitness.
A cautious player with worthless leadership skills and worthless experience.
Stamina: mediocre Wicket Keeping: worthless
Batting: worthless Concentration: worthless
Bowling: quality Consistency: proficient
Fielding: worthless

Currently on two bowl; probably going to add a stamina and fielding net after the last OD match. Means he'll be pretty pooped for most of next season, but he'd be exc/exc with superb stam by the time he turns 21, making him my best prospect for hitting the real top levels.

Magrat Garlick

Rather Mad Witch
Dynamo Morpork 424 for two declared (57)
Crouch 227*, James 99*
(Herbert is a cruel captain)

Doobie Bombers 78 for seven (53)
Lescott 31; Scott 3/15 (19), Rock 2/5 (9)

The Bombers have given up, it seems. Probably should give it a shot of stretching it to a third day.

Longthorn* 3 (9 balls)
Skipper 2 (6 balls)

lost one early but middle order has been in fine form so hoipefully we can get some sort of lead today!

I'm definitely promoting in FC next season. Unfortunately this match will wrap up today, so I miss out on $70k in gate receipts, which I could really do with right now.

He's not quitting per se, says he will return at some point to spend his 100m.

Forgot to set my 2nd XI for the FC match against a bot, Cuss and Ashton scored 300 apiece while Watkins was out for two. Attendance just under 24,000, which I'm pretty sure is my highest single-day attendance in FC.

In other news, bought this guy for some reason (12.3m):

Douglas Howland - 24 yo, BT Rating=242,137
RH Batsman, RFM Bowler, superb batting form, superb bowling form, invigorated fitness.
A destructive player with proficient leadership skills and remarkable experience.
Stamina: superb Wicket Keeping: abysmal
Batting: masterful Concentration: phenomenal
Bowling: proficient Consistency: phenomenal
Fielding: wonderful

Should be interesting. Got 5m to spare so I'm not sure if I'll use him as a fifth bowler or sell a batsman (Allott) and buy a proper bowler.

Howland is an interesting player, was wondering how he would bowl. Bowl him against me in the CW cup final.

Just put Badenhurst on the market for $0 if anybody would like to put in an early bid. I was going to train him to competent stamina, but I'd rather get back to 1.6m before the financial update.
