Perry manages to run himself out for a diamond duck. Rubbish. Gonasilan follows, and it's 6/2 after just seven balls.
I thought only the bat on strike could get out, even with run outs.

EDIT: Never mind. Googled

Cricket: Diamond duck
A diamond duck is when someone is out from the very first ball of a match. Yes it does exist in Test Cricket and isn t that uncommon.

Interesting, wiki says different.

Players who are dismissed by the first ball they face are said to have been dismissed for a golden duck.[1] Players who are dismissed without facing a ball (usually run out) are said to be out for a diamond duck [2]. This is not to be confused with a platinum duck, which refers colloquially to a batsman who is out on the first ball of a match.

Perry was on strike. He hit, he ran, he failed to make it in time!

I remember hearing somewhere that (as usual) the Aussies define these things differently to the Brits. Not sure with which the other cricketing nations align themselves.

I thought:

Duck: Scratched around for a few balls without scoring.
Golden Duck: Out first ball.
Diamond Duck: Out first ball of the innings.
Platinum Duck: Out first ball of the match (Test matches only?).

Meh.

42/4 from 10 overs now. Only Sandwith and Reed stand between me and a serious mashing.

Yep. Truly, this imminent 150+ run victory will go down as one of the great scandals of modern times.

Required run-rate creeping up in my game. Still in there, but really need one of these two to start hitting out pronto.

End of Over 17: 95-1, runrate=5.59, reqrunrate=7.00 (325-10)
Devapriya 4-0-29-0
Platt* 47 (54 balls)

Last Wicket: Alshaun lbw b. Seaman 1 (FOW: 9/1)

Cracking game going on here - their two decent bowlers aren't set to come back until the death overs so as long as Hamed (med/fee) can stick with Kepler, we might just pull this off.

End of Over 21: 71-5, runrate=3.38, reqrunrate=2.69 (148-10)
Benedict 4-0-26-0
Kepler* 38 (55 balls)
Hamed 18 (42 balls)

Creeping up to within 50 runs of the target. Off to Uni now. Darn real life getting in the way of things.

Dillon overperforming as always takes out Reed with his 2nd ball.
Buckley, my bit-part all-rounder trainee (he's never going to be top class, but should make the 5th bowler slot his own), is doing far better than expected, putting on over 60 runs with Sandwith. 168/5 after 36 overs, so just 107 needed for the win

Going to be tight...

End of Over 35: 205-1, runrate=5.86, reqrunrate=7.80 (321-1)
Leigertwood 4-0-15-0

Kealey 11 (13 balls)
Last Wicket: Snodin c & b. Archer 67 (FOW: 176/1)

A not-unimaginable target of 110 off the last 10 overs, especially as his worst bowler will be bowling half of them. Still pretty unlikely though. Tense stuff, as if I win this I'm in with a real chance of topping the league. C'mon, lads...

End of Over 40: 216-1, runrate=5.40, reqrunrate=11.00 (325-10)
Leacock 10-0-38-0
Bromby* 112 (122 balls)
Platt 99 (113 balls)
Last Wicket: Alshaun lbw b. Seaman 1 (FOW: 9/1)

Edit: Never mind, eh?

Code:
44.5	W	Macken to Oleary
Yorker! Played all around it and his stumps have been scattered.
44.4	W	Macken to Ganfield
Great reaction catch by Govender, taking a ball flicked down leg side at full stretch.
44.3	W	Macken to Liebenberg
Movement from the pitch has seen Liebenberg bowled, that ball looked fairly innocuous at first.
44.2	W	Macken to Bromby
Bromby was expecting that one to cut away off the seam but it straightened up as the crow flies, found the gap and split middle and leg.
Yep, the last eight wickets go down for eight runs (and the last nine for 19), and I'm all out for 262. Bleh.

Talk about jinxing it! Dillon got Buckley out about two balls after I posted that, exposing the tail.

A few steady wickets later, and it was 200/9...and then Sandwith castled himself with an inside edge, having scored 86 off 102 balls.

200/10 in response to Scaly's 274/10. On an uneven pitch and a TIE, I'm pretty chuffed with that -- goes nicely with my slightly narrower defeat last week against Sherwood, the league leaders, which was also on TIE.

Scaly, can I presume from the performance that you TIEd this one too?

Just wondering what were the rules regarding International players and FC matches. I was always under the impression they couldn't play FC. But I had a look at a couple NT players and they seem to have played the odd FC game. Also what is actually percentage with NT subsidies?

They can't play NT and FC on the same day, but if they're being rested/not been picked for the NT, they could play club.

Rules say otherwise:

When a player is called up to the national side, he will spend Mondays to Wednesdays, inclusive, with the national squad. This means that they will take a fitness hit from both games at the same time if playing in FC matches as well (they can play in both using the secret ultrasonic jets that BT uses).
