Right, let's move on...Saturday's game is big, though not as big as it would have been but for Tevez's late goal. Predictions? Hope Chelsea win, if for the hope of the best title race since 99
No result would surprise me. Quietly confident we can avoid defeat, which would as good as give us the championship IMO.

Scholes the best United player on the field by far tonight. So many tackles and interceptions.
Ridiculous where Rooney was played and to have Park on the field before Anderson, pfft managers these days.
I agreed with the Park selection, was picked to do a job on Messi, which he and Evra combined did. Would have taken him off once Messi had gone off though, and looked to attack a bit more, Park was poor in the final third.

Yeah, Chelsea need the win, will make for an absorbing contest, what with your counter-attacking abilities

Thought Barca would get the win, how they didn't score early on I don't know. OT but the Nou Camp is probably the best place I've ever watched football from.

Speaking of stadiums, for all the "Anfield, magical on European nights" bollocks, the impression I got from the TV was that it was rubbish on Tuesday, Nou Camp seemed far more intimidating.

A total stranger from a "Portsmouth FC" Facebook group has just offered me the possibility of two FA Cup Final tickets. He said he was "fed up with the inability of true fans to get tickets". I'm immediately skeptical of this, but there's no reason why it couldn't be legit in theory. I did ask him to guarantee the legitimacy of the tickets, and obviously I won't hand over the money unless they're for real, so I don't see what harm it can do in pursuing this.

If I end up with two tickets for me and my Dad from a perfect stranger, then there is definitely a football God.

Right, Barca v Utd, here goes.

Will take that result. Utd shut out Barca's attacking threat very well, especially considering we lost Vidic the day before. Job done IMO. On the attacking front it just seemed the ball never quite fell for us, and almost stuck to the Barca players when needed. Bit annoying not to get a goal considering we missed a pen, and had 2 more stonewallers denied (first half body check on Ronnie was not only a pen, but as the last man, a red card).

Felt going forward we let the Barca fans booing intimidate us, everytime the ground got its voice we gave away a poor pass.

Still, they didnt exactly dominate at the back, and that'll be exposed at OT, because they HAVE to come and seek the goal, thus exposing the defence. Confident a fully fit utd defence can keep a clean sheet, and would expect us to score.

Personally a bit scared about the possibility of something like 1-1 and us losing out on away goals, but here's hoping we'll be safe and through.

Wasn't happy with the game personally, felt we could have given at least one other player a bit more licence to run up the pitch. Felt it was Ronaldo up front and everyone else in defence, something I personally can't stand when done against us. That competed with the FA Cup final last season as the most boring game featuring Manchester United I've ever seen.

Hmm, turns out my Dad can only afford to chip in for a tiny portion of my ticket as a 21st birthday present (since when has £30 been an acceptable amount to spend on your son's 21st? ****), so I'm not sure I can afford the rest of the £100 or so it'll cost myself. Add to the fact that I'm already flying back over to watch the game on TV in Pompey, and it'll be a price I pretty much can't pay, especially if we end up losing. :@

Really enjoyed the game last night. Although, one did suspect that Man U might possibly show a little bit more attacking intent but it was good to see Barcelona not divert from their traditional fearless style of play considering the season they have had.

Should be a fantastic second leg and I’m fairly confident that Barca will score.

These two teams really should be in Moscow.

I, like you, really enjoyed watching it, but I had suspected that this was simply because I was ****ing nervous. Can't wait for the second leg already. In all honesty, I find most CL games watchable, I'd take a tactical European game over an open Premiership game between two average teams any day, because the standard is so much higher. Even Chelsea are watchable when they're playing decent opposition.

Aside from the fact that I support United, I think it would be good to have an all English final anyway. Think an all English final is favourite... we just need not to bottle it, and hopefully have Vidic back, allowing Hargreaves to play in midfield.

Ha. Go The Chavs. Will make the rest of the season very interesting if it stays like this.
You must feel dirty typing that? What was the reason that your match against Derby was postponed? I assume rain?

Anyway the Spuds will sign Croatian midfielder Luka Modric for £15.8million should he pass a medical and get a work permit.
