CW Battrick Cup, season nine

Dead Badger

State 12th Man
Like a cheetah on ex-lax, Citizens Erased have a lot of runs.

End of Over 40: 263-0, runrate=6.58
Gill 10-0-75-0
Chanderpaul* 139 (114 balls)
Mohammed 123 (126 balls)

Mahindinho

State Vice-Captain
I'm resting two bowlers and trying to restore some form to my backup batsmen. Reed and Sandwith both in there, but with the latter down the order.

Brackenhurst 140/4 at the 40 over stage.

UPDATE: Make that 140/6 after 40.3 overs!

A fair innings here by Duggan it has to said. Looks like he has a point to prove to the NZ selectors for dropping him from the NT squad. Trying to show them he can play quality innings against good attacks. 131 not out so far, but wickets falling at the other end.

Whenuapai CC are 231/3 after 43 overs against Scaly Piscine CC. Certainly gives me something for Downer and Towse to try and defend, just. Duggan putting in a master class performance against top opposition. Currently 131* off 136 balls.

Like a gibbon that has finally taken a wicket, Pead has, uh, finally taken a wicket. So Chanderpaul goes, but like a pheasant wearing kevlar, 359 represents a rather challenging target.

Rather like a dead badger, these jokes are becoming tiresome

Anyway, seems Trev was right about his assessment of his bowling. BEST Indies totalled 268 against them.

Yeah, sorry. I'll stop. like a lemming having second thoughts

Got scads of marking to do, y'see. It does strange things to the mind.

Withington 119/2 from 20, chasing Brackenhurst's 154.

Whenuapai in a bit of trouble, with Scaly 86/0 from 17, chasing 254.

Missing Makwetla majorly here. Can't seem to buy a wicket at the moment, and Abdul Kadir and Malik don't come back till the 40th, and there's a high possibility they get too close by then.

All over at the NCMG, with an 8 wicket Withington win the result. Should be a very tight match against Morpork next week.

Scaly 152/0 after 30 overs -- RR 5.07, RRR 5.15. Nibbs seriously needs some wickets.

Brackenhurst - 154/10 off 44.5 overs
Burnip 57 (85)
Hamlin 33 (46)
John 4/15 (7)
Hardy 3/26 (7.5)
Buckley 2/39 (10)

lost to

Withington Wonderers - 155/2 off 29.1 overs
Reed 79* (69)
Mulryne 42* (78)
Smart 2/25 (5)

Guess I'm happy with that. Disappointed to fold after a 72-run opening stand, but good pressure by the Witho bowlers. Happy with Smart, showing his class on the big arena. All the best in the next round Wonderers. :)

This one is tight. Will need wickets to be comfident of the win though.

Fordham 126* in our own innings.
