CW Battrick Cup, season nine

Agent TBY

International Captain
End of Over 39: 252-3, runrate=6.46, reqrunrate=9.82 (359-1)
Woodward 10-0-74-1
Alshaun* 3 (4 balls)
Janes 29 (18 balls)
Last Wicket: Bromby lbw b. Alshaun 118 (FOW: 240/3)
Platt and Bromby gone, but Janes is smashing it around a bit.

Getting worried now. 100 runs in ten overs is definitely gettable.

Mahindinho

State Vice-Captain
Guess I'm happy with that. Disappointed to fold after a 72-run opening stand, but good pressure by the Witho bowlers. Happy with Smart, showing his class on the big arena. All the best in the next round Wonderers. :)
Cheers :)

You had me a little worried there, but the rate was always pretty low.

Haha, passed 50, who would have thought?

End of Over 14: 53-2, runrate=3.79
Watkins 7-0-30-0
Elmes* 30 (34 balls)
Garcia 21 (36 balls)
Last Wicket: Darby c. Ashton b. Lancaster 0 (FOW: 2/2)

End of Over 45: 238-5, runrate=5.29, reqrunrate=6.20 (268-10)
Ross 8-0-30-4
Creasey* 1 (1 balls)
Akhtar 118 (117 balls)

The Gurs struggling to get up against BEST Indies

Better that me Pasag, 24 all out. Cheers rang out today all over the SD XI ground, when they completed an upset of a big proportion, beating Anchormen, a team that the Manager, Gaurav Nayak, holds in a highest regard.

He had this to say after the match 'Must say, very shocked at the result, I definitely thought we could push them, maybe put them under a bit of pressure, but didn't think we could acutally get the result, and comprehensively at that. We'll be celebrating tonight'

48.3 W Abdul kadir to Alshaun
OUT! Abdul kadir's bowled it fast as you like, and Alshaun went and smashed it over his head. But Abdul kadir jumped up with his hand in the air, and the ball stuck! That's an almost superhuman effort - he got right up off the ground there.
YES! More importantly, dot ball. 33 needed off 9 balls. Surely game over?

Crazy win over Tinho's boys there, played the same lineup as I did also.

Elmes out for 54 off 56 to Whitehorne, his finest knock, perhaps. The collapse should come fairly soon now.

Exciting stuff at Frozen Tundra. Ross took a hat-trick and has 7-44...the no 11 on strike as the Gurs need six to win off seven balls.

31 needed off the last over, and like a mongoose with a snake in a jar, I have the opposition exactly where I want them.

...

Okay, so my team appear to have been bitten all over the face. Never mind. Still, closer than I would've thought given that my lot managed only one wicket. Well played, Mr TBY. :)

And that's the end of the match. Citizens Erased won by 16 runs.
Citizens Erased 359-1
Beard XI 343-5

Edit: bugger me, BEST Indies won? I actually have no animal metaphor for the surprise I'm experiencing. Nice one!

Quality game that, if a bit bat-dominated. Good fight. :)

EDIT: BEST Indies won! Hahaha.

Still in with a shout though. If you beat BEST Indies by a lot and the Gurs lose to Citizens Erased, there'll be three teams on two points and the best NRR goes through.

At Treacle Mine Road, the bowling team is in charge...

End of Over 23: 96-3, runrate=4.17

Huge wicket.
27.3 W Rock to Churms
That's a truly woeful shot. He couldn't have been surprised to hear the clink of his wicket breaking.

127-4 now, with Wight (who earns a meagre 500 quid a week) in. Should clean them up from here.

Meh, didn't eviscerate Whenuapai CC in the end as I was hoping, but a superb-quality hit a century against him so it's not too bad.

Made 150 in the end, stoked with that. Arthurton's taken a wicket as well.
