81/3, and 33/0. Ugh. I should have crushed them on the big stage. And the bastard that denied me a hat trick is getting beamed every time he comes to the crease.

Still an excellent season on the whole. Some great support to the Demeza-Collins pairing in FC, and your OD form was a huge unexpected bonus.

On a personal note I seem to be going backwards as a batsman. My FC career may be over. :(

Yea, I'm surprised at my own OD stats. Makes no sense. Would be a cruel thing if I end up being a OD specialist.

Re: your form - give it another season, you never know.

It's a good thing really. It shows that there's a lot of young batting talent at CW Blue. My FC bowling fell away years ago. Partly because I stopped bowling myself in FC cricket.

Your FC performances were outstanding this season, so I very much doubt you'd lose your way in that form easily.

well, another season is over. very happy with the state of the Blue team. The new guys are doing great and the old timers still got it.

Over the moon with that season guys. It's a total honour to be the captain of such a great squad of talented players and good lads.

Will be a shame if Thamba decides to go. Not overly sure why you'd want to go mate, as your the cornerstone to our FC batting (would get just as much game time here as there) and played regular OD cricket. Here you're more likely to get silverware too (judging from this season, anyway).

Up to you ultimately though, I guess.

In other news, stellar rookie seasons from Stephen and G in particular, with Luke and Ben chipping in with some excellent cricket along the way too.

Stoked at picking up Manan. Great showing.

As Dinu said, all the old heads performed well and with consistency over the season. We were hit pretty hard by injuries this season too, so to make both finals and win one with the injuries makes it all the sweeter.

Hopefully we can retain the same squad for next season, and continue to play well :)

Have a good off-season for your respective clubs and have some fun in the charity set up.

Silverware tbh isn't a big thing for me. Yeah it is nice winning trophies and championships. But yeah need a different challenge to lead a batting line up. Nice to get a decent run in ODs, but I'm pretty sure I will always be in and out of OD sides.

Haven't decided 100% sure yet though.

Even if it does, it really doesn't matter though, does it? A player's free to play where he wishes to, and I understand where he's coming from.

I might be new around here, but am I wrong in assuming that Thamba would, if he does, leave with the best wishes of everyone at this club?

You'll be sorely missed, mate, but if you don't want to reconsider your decision, I hope you can replicate the success you've had here. Just not against us, though. :p

There wasn't anything in my post suggesting that I was criticizing him for leaving Blue. All I'm saying, and I stand by it, is that he seems to care more about being the star of a team than helping a team achieve success. Not a very healthy attitude.

I agree with this. We're a champion team, not a team of champions etc (well besides me, i'm a total champion etc  )

Regardless of the above, would be extremely sad to see Thamba go. Even if he wants a bigger challenge/more responsibility on his shoulders, he's got a lot of that here. Being the go to man (with Pete) at the top. The FC stats show how important Thamba is to us, he scored all those runs after a very poor start t othe season as well as having to keep whilst Alex was injured!

Also, where abouts are the current contracts Liam?

When can we start re-offering contracts to players who will be going out of contract and rookies etc?

That comes off sounding a tad selfish tbh.
I think you mis understood what I was saying. I don't think it would be that selfish to move to another club because you want to help them go from the bottom of ladder and become more competitive. Maybe even push for titles in a couple seasons. Would be more selfish to stay at a club just to win titles or move to a club for purely those reasons. If all I cared about was being a superstar of a side, I would have stayed at Colts.

AWTA. I could definitely understand if he wasn't getting a game, but that's obviously not a problem in this case. He can obviously move if he likes but I have no respect for the decision at all.

I wish you the best of luck anyway, Thamba.

I'm not too fussed if thats the way you guys are viewing the move. Your allowed to your opinons.

But basically Green have been at the bottom of ladder in FC atleast for the last couple seasons. Personally I don't see how they are meant to get off the bottom of ladder unless a couple 'better' players move over to their club. Basically similar to what happened at Colts a couple season back when Simon, Butler and Wilson moved over.

Rookies allocations seem to go only so far. The salary cap IMO has made little difference in keeping the competition even. No offence intended to Liam or Hak, it just seems to be the way things worked out. Off course there are other factors such as keeping active players. But really unless some players take a risk and move to lesser performing club, we will always have an in balance in the competition.
