Indian Premier League

From what I know, the second auction is purely based on overseas players of whom there is a demand for by more than one team or Indian players (mostly youngsters) who at least one team are interested in.

Interesting listening to Indian Premier League Chairman, Lalit Modi, on TMS last night.

A couple of interesting things

- Noone knows who will be in this second auction until Sat and he doesnt expect any English players to be there

- Any County that plays a player that has appeared (from now) in the ICL will not be invited to the lucrative T20 Champions Trophy. Even if that player will not play in the tournament the County will be excluded if they allow any ICL related player to appear for them at any point.

potentially could rule out a hell of a lot of counties..Essex are about the only county not to have played an ICL player or to have one contracted for this season.

Some IPL News

- Tendulkar to lead [as expected] 'Mumbai Indians' .... Besides the captain, 'Mumbai Indians' has some explosive players in its line up like Jayasuriya, Pollock & Uthappa .... if one of these players plays for 40-50 balls, a good will be on cards more often than not. Even if couple of them blast playing 20-30 balls, along with support from a couple other, it would hv a decent total on board

- David Hussey negotialtes a deal w/ the county to enable him to play in the IPL, so thats good news for Kol

From NZ, I'd say Taylor and Mills would be most likely to be picked up. And then maybe Jamie How and Jeetan Patel.

And Misbah has already gone to Kolkata hasn't he?

Can't wait for Watto to get picked up. That'll be the team I support. Reckon he'll surprise a few people, was dominant in the KFC 20/20 over here this summer.

Y no Afghanistan flag
LOL if Mick Lewis gets a run.

Adam Voges would be a good buy from the players who have expressed interest.

I'm kind of hoping Jaipur might pick him up. They've got the makings of a nice little team there I reckon, and I think Warney is a fan. I'd quite like to support Jaipur, I like supporting the underdogs. :)

Any of the Aussies players could be a great pickup. Hoping that Mortaza gets picked up somewhere too. Working on a team where he'd get to work with top quality quicks from other countries might help him get to the next level.

Might help him take a wicket and get back into the Bangladesh side, tbh.

Oh, haven't been watching him that closely but I always thought he had potential to be quite good.

An IPL draft system is sorta cool. But are we really going to have that many good young players coming through every year to make it worthwhile?
