Buddy, it is hard enough to find sense in your posts when you use words and sentences.
I am just not that smart - so why 61.25?
Why not 37.25? or 34.5? Or 19.33? Or better still 2-0?

In India on his home grounds, HBS apparently called Symonds a monkey - he smashed the bowling in all barr a couple of games and helped Australia win the series. In both finals, Australia's best batting chance was during the substantial partnerships between Hayden and Symonds. In both cases , partnership was broken during Harbhajan's bowling , who accounted for both of them (2nd finals, Hayden to a run out that he was part of) . The second final happened at the homeground of these Queenslanders.
In case anyone missed this.

But he got under the skin of aussies.. and won.....Harby's average in the important matches this summer
You couldnt have missed that, he bowled lots and lots of over for very few wickets
And very few runs. Harbhajan has been a run-choking stock bowler for a while now,Harby's average in the important matches this summer

Won what exactly? But he got under the skin of aussies.. and won.....
dont think any one has done that together before

IMO, Harbajhan is like Kaneria - very promising start to career has now given way to mediocrity in all conditions because of technical deficiencies and lack of variationAnd very few runs. Harbhajan has been a run-choking stock bowler for a while now,
and not a wicket taking striker. He averaged 34.5 in this tournament, inspite of this.
You are perhaps referring to the tests, in which he was ineffective with the ball (except for Ponting) but good enough with the bat for Symonds to have to resort to non-cricketing means of tackling Harbhajan.
(61.25 still puts him on approximate par with Ishant Sharma and Hogg, and way ahead of every SriLankan bowler. So all we've established is that Harbhajan is something of an average bowler while bowling in Australia - that is hardly news).
Harbhajan is as ordinary as Kaneria, can agree with that. I can see him lose his spot to someone like Powar (perhaps not Powar himself)IMO, Harbajhan is like Kaneria - very promising start to career has now given way to mediocrity in all conditions because of technical deficiencies and lack of variation
In short, virtually every batsman in the world has worked him out and simply pick the runs off without him appearing particularly threatening
Yes, he's accurate but quality bowlers also take wickets
BTW, Ishant is totally different - he looks like taking wickets
i careWon what exactly?
England beat the world champs in ODIs last year, who cares now?
NZ beat the world champs in ODIs last year, who cares now?
Australia beat the world champs in 20/20, who cares now?
The CB series was great for the development of some of the young Indian players, but in the overall scheme of things, it doesnt matter a jot
And still he was the best indian bowler ER wiseI

Harby is an off spinner who takes wickets mainly in the sub continent conditions. The truth is that no finger spinner has done particularly well in tests in Australia for a long time for absence of helpful conditions. (Murali being a wristy also has not done well). So ranking him as bad just because he has not perfromed well in Australia is just not right.IMO, Harbajhan is like Kaneria - very promising start to career has now given way to mediocrity in all conditions because of technical deficiencies and lack of variation

Made up for it in the WC final in 03 though, didn't he?Lol, how the Aussie fans here forget how comprehensively Bhajji owned the Aussies in the 01 tour to India?
Ponting said the Ishant Sharma spell to him in Perth was the best he faced in his career. i agree to that, because in 2001, he was hardly out in the middle for one over, leave alone a single spell.
Ooops, We are mixing up tests on ODIs here a bit, arent we? Any spinner's approach to ODI game is vastly different from the test matches. Also, the series was played in India and the WC in SA.Made up for it in the WC final in 03 though, didn't he?
And his poor test form isn't limited to Australia either. Certainly his ODI stuff has been pretty good, but I wonder whether he'll still be the net chosen after Kumble for tests, as opposed to ODIs.
It's a fair way off anyways. Plenty can happen re. form etc before then.
Please. Yuvraj Singh is not fit to tie Ponting's shoe laces as a batsman. Must say it's the only time I've heard them compared with each other.Ooops, We are mixing up tests on ODIs here a bit, arent we? It's a bit like saying Yuvraj's 139 in 2003 series means he has done well against Australia. Or his recent 100 in India, or his 20-20 blitzkrieg, while the fact remains he has been troubled like hell by Aussie bowlers.
Unless Powar goes on a diet!!!I can see him lose his spot to someone like Powar (perhaps not Powar himself).
