I think his 2 WCs, 5-0 Ashes win and holding just about every trophy on offer atm kind of balance it a bit, but yeah, it was a very weird field.if ever there was a doubt that ponting was a bad captain it was proven with his two thirdman field setting for tendulkar.
I don't think he is a bad captain, but I do think he has been helped immensely by the team he got to lead.....I think his 2 WCs, 5-0 Ashes win and holding just about every trophy on offer atm kind of balance it a bit, but yeah, it was a very weird field.
Stuey wasn't anywhere near the action.Surely Clark isn't allowed to tackle a batsman....
Poor technique - you really should drive the shoulder in there, to maximise impact of the ball carrier with the ground.interesting way to save a run, bring down the runner...
good batting pitch, short boundaries and really quick outfield probably means 260 will not be easy to defend against hayden, gilchrist, ponting, clarke and symonds...2 down....and how is the pitch looking..at the start of day chappel was saying its loks like a third day test pitch..wht will be a decent score with we have 2 specialist spinners in our team 250-260 ???
Who knows, they way the games have been going this year? In Sydney you'd think 300+ woud be comfortable, but India got within 20 odd. Depends if the Aussies hit straight, the boundaries in that part of the ground aren't that long.2 down....and how is the pitch looking..at the start of day chappel was saying its loks like a third day test pitch..wht will be a decent score with we have 2 specialist spinners in our team 250-260 ???
yeah i know it was a clear mixup, just kidding...No, he may not be allowed to tackle him, but he is allowed to keep going for the ball, surely. They're both good players, but neither is imbued with the magical power of disappearing to get out of the other's way .
Yep, exactly. Poor tackle on Clarke's behalf. Sack him to a soft spot like hooker as he's clearly not a backman's ring hole.Poor technique - you really should drive the shoulder in there, to maximise impact of the ball carrier with the ground.

After this summer, no one can take anything in a light hearted manner again. Ever.yeah i know it was a clear mixup, just kidding...
Don't think it's quite as two-paced some others we've seen. Still, you can't judge 'em until both sides have batted on them. They'll want 300 from here I reckon.saw the following in Cricinfo thats why asked
Halfway in this innings, and the game's interestingly set. India have been ticking over the runs and the pitch is quite interesting, the ball not coming on hard
yeah especially since it was michael clarke, let's spin a conspiracy theory then...After this summer, no one can take anything in a light hearted manner again. Ever.
