Battle of the Wrestlers

Hopefully Barney will mercifully bring an end to these squash matches soon.
tbh rock vs jericho is not a squash match, if this battle were being ran on a wrestling forum, or at least a forum with more people interested in wrestling Y2J would have polled a lot more votes I would wager.

Wait 'till you see the next battle. Leaving this one open for a couple more hours 'cause I don't have time to type out the next two, and also because we've had a pitiful number of votes, but from here on in there are only one or two more squash matches, the remaining 6 or 7 are very tight including two absolute humdingers.

Right, that's those two over and done with. The Rock defeats the unlucky Jericho 8-1, while Flair rightfully picks up a whitewash.

Round 2, Battle 9:

Weighing in at two hundred and fifty pounds, from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.....'The Olympic Hero', 'The Wrestling Machine', Kurt Angle!

And his opponent, weighing in at two hundred and fifty two pounds, from Victoria, Texas.....'The Texas Rattlesnake', 'Stone Cold' Steve Austin!

Round 2, Battle 10:

Weighing in at two hundred and forty pounds, from the Red Hook Section of Brooklyn, New York.....'The Human Suplex Machine', Tazz!

And his opponent, weighing in at two hundred and twenty five pounds, from San Antonio, Texas.....'The Heartbreak Kid', 'The Showstopper', Shawn Michaels!

My votes are going to Angle - never was much of an Austin fan, as great as he is on the mic he was never good at dragging an inferior worker to a good match like Angle is - and Michaels. Tazz was phenomenal, but Michaels is, in my opinion, the greatest in-ring performer of all time, and may well go on to win this whole thing.

haha major tough one this.....on wrestling ability the winner is clearly angle, but austin was an era defining character.....

would mark out for either of these guys, as theyre both great (even if Kurt Angle is crazy these days)......but I'm going to go for Austin here.

Stone Cold Steve Austin

another tough one, as Tazz was one of the best imo, very underated in terms of the way teh WWE used him, and whilst I agree that HBK is awesome...I do feel that for a bit he is overated somewhat....(albeit not very much), but awesome as Tazz was I dont think he trumps HBK.....

Shawn Michaels - HBK

Wow that's a harsh one there. I always loved Kurt Angle, he was a total gun in the ring and he turned out to be one of the most hilarious segment dudes as well. It took me a long time to warm up to Austin, but eventually began to love him. Ridiculously hard choice, but Austin/McMahon feud tips it over the edge for me 'cause it was probably the best feud in wrestling, at the very least in my lifetime and probably ranks up there in the all time greats. So Austin there. But I would not be upset in the slightest if Kurt made it through in his stead.

I'm actually going to vote for Tazz in the other one, mostly out of sympathy but because I've never really been a huge HBK fan. I appreciate his immense talents but I dunno, he just never did it for me. Being a huge Bret Hart mark probably doesn't help!

**** this is a hard one, if I was to go on wrestling ability Angle, but Stone Cold is just such a gun entertainer.
HBK also

Right, I'm closing those battles now 'cause we need to move on, even though there's not been many votes.

Both battles ended 6-1 - Austin grabbing a somewhat surprisingly one-sided victory over a man I consider to be one of the greatest of all time, and Michaels triumphing as expected over an unfortunate Tazz.

Round 2, Battle 11:

Weighing in at two hundred and forty five pounds, from West Newbury, Massachusetts.....'The Champ', John Cena!

And his opponent, weighing two hundred and seventy pounds, from Atlanta, Georgia.....Goldberg!

Round 2, Battle 12:

Weighing in at two hundred and thirty four pounds, from Calgary, Alberta, Canada.....'The Excellence of Execution', Bret 'The Hitman' Hart!

And weighing in at two hundred and ninety five pounds, from Death Valley.....'The Phenom', The Undertaker!

Cena blows Goldberg away for mine, and as great as Bret Hart was, I am the biggest 'Taker mark of all time so I'm not voting against him. This tie could so easily be the final.

Cena easily over Goldberg for mine as well, but bloody hell, that second one is brutal. Bret Hart for me, 'cause I'm probably the biggest Bret Hart mark of all time, but yeah, That's a shocking match up xD

Though I quite like Cena, i'm going to have to go for Goldberg here,

Brett Hart though good, was overhyped and overated for mine, Taker easily.

Goldberg

Undertaker
