lol at the commentators trying to put a positive spin on that final ball, it was just a rank slow long-hop. Great finish though.
You're a brave man if you bring Chawla into the team in a final, when he hasn't played any real cricket the whole tour. Asking for trouble there.Nice win by SL .... Melbourne hasn't been good for the OZ in this series
OZ ill go into the final w/ a loss under its belt while Ind go into it with a win .... But that loss could serve as a wake up call for the OZ, while Ind can look at the game and say that OZ batting could be put under pressure
hoping for exciting finals .... Ind's best chance would be at Sydney, esp considering that its part-timers can be handful there
my recommendation for the X1 for the game at Sydney
- Tendulkar, Sehwag & Gambhir
- Rohit and Yuvi
- Dhoni, Uthappa & Pathan
- Kumar, Ishant & Chawla
Chawla, imo, is a better wkt taking option than Bhajji .... the conditions at Sydney could suit ChawlaYou're a brave man if you bring Chawla into the team in a final, when he hasn't played any real cricket the whole tour. Asking for trouble there.
And if you're going to play him, you'd bat him at #9.
The MCG easily produces the worst pitches in Australia. It is a shocking advertisment for drop in pitches. And no, it's not because 300+ totals aren't being made. Rather, it's the inconsistent bounce and generally tackiness of the wicket. As Gilchrist said, it was disappointing in the 3 ODIs he played there this Summer; disappointing in the Test match; and disappointing in the Pura Cup game he played against the Vics. I'm not one for supporting every pitch being an absolute highway, but it should at least be a pitch that one can rely on, in terms of the ball coming on.
Any pitch that makes Nuwan Kulasekara look ODI standard must be dire IMO.But to be fair, its Melbourne and we can do whatever the **** we want
