So sick of him talking about Sehwag/Chopra as the ultimate effective opening combination. I'd take Karthik/Jaffer over that pair any day.Ian Chappell, take note: the Indian team does not live or die on the effectiveness of Sehwag. The team goes on when he fails and it goes on when he's not in it, so it most certainly goes on if you partner him with someone he's not at his most useful with!
Well he didn't make 42, but a fantastic effort for pass 16,000 ODI runs. What was the significance of the 42 btw?16,000 and counting ......hope he makes it to 42 as well
Ian Chappell, take note: the Indian team does not live or die on the effectiveness of Sehwag. The team goes on when he fails and it goes on when he's not in it, so it most certainly goes on if you partner him with someone he's not at optimum effectiveness with!
You two like it or not..he was 100% rite.......So sick of him talking about Sehwag/Chopra as the ultimate effective opening combination. I'd take Karthik/Jaffer over that pair any day.
He meant 42 hundreds, as in going on to make a century today since he currently has 41. Jinxed him in the end
I think Sehwag and Jaffer is the right combination for India to have, as much as i hate Sehwag's technique (or the lack of it) one can't ignore his effectiveness, on his day he can toy with even a good bowling attack and though Jaffer hasn't done well against the Aussies in the last series he has shown that he has the concentration and temperament to score big runs.So sick of him talking about Sehwag/Chopra as the ultimate effective opening combination. I'd take Karthik/Jaffer over that pair any day.
Oh that's not a big deal he would sooner or latter ton up for the 42nd time in Odi cricket, i think he has a very good chance of ending his career with 100 international centuries to his name eventually, so what do you think does he have enough gas in the tank to ton up 20 more times in international cricket. He meant 42 hundreds, as in going on to make a century today since he currently has 41. Jinxed him in the end
I'm not denying that. I'm simply pointing out how ridiculous and extreme his Sehwag fascination has got - he's now talking about building the whole team around Sehwag and factoring selection around which players would suit him best. He's rather lucky to be in the team at all, especially the ODI team. You two like it or not..he was 100% rite.......
he was the first person to aknowledge the fact india made a mistake by not selecting sehwag in the team when his name was missing from the probabale 30 list...and he was proved rite..
and i will take sehwag over any one else...specially when no one has been effective for a long time and the stats will also be some what helpful look the records of the people to have opened for india since 2000
Decline began a while ago actually. Richard will have us all believe it hasn't though, for whatever reason.Haven't seen Vass bowl this badly too many times, is he just rusty or has the decline begun for him!
bit rusty I guess....another wicket...sehwag gone!Haven't seen Vass bowl this badly too many times, is he just rusty or has the decline begun for him!
what happend?Bit lackluster fielding, shocking miss just then and they just don't seem all that hungry in the field.
i think he is enjoying his moment of glory..since he was the first to support him and since then he has been a good hit...i think he was even saying about making him the next test captain...I'm not denying that. I'm simply pointing out how ridiculous and extreme his Sehwag fascination has got - he's now talking about building the whole team around Sehwag and factoring selection around which players would suit him best.
