Ganguly goes, seemed like a good decision. Although Ganguly would think he's unlucky to have scooped that up straight to Hussey.
He does no such thing.Good catch from Hussey, and Johnson gives a very small glimmer of hope for a result.
Haha. Thought the same thing myself a few times. Why do Channel Nine commentators treat their viewers like brain dead mushrooms? ...insisting a result in this match is still possible. The chances of a result were stone dead last night.
The only way there will be a result is if India declare at like 150 to give themselves a chance of bowling us out. That also gives us a chance of winning the game though so...They need to take risks if they want to level the series though.Good catch from Hussey, and Johnson gives a very small glimmer of hope for a result.
Exactly. What do you want them to say? "Man this is really just petering out now, turning out to be a really boring Test. Go outside and do something else"Haha. Thought the same thing myself a few times.
But I think they are even perhaps told to do it, to maintain viewer interest and ratings.
Even then, that's only if both sides declare at 5/heaps. Have always thought Adelaide would be better if it's more sporting. Mind you, it's a hard balance; when a bit greener, Adelaide zips around everywhere off the seam and there's great breeze for swing. Shave off the green a little and it's a batter's paradise. Rarely anywhere in between. You need three days to get 10 wickets on this dung heap!
No, there is still a big chance. Dravid is out, RP Singh is out, Kumble has a back spasm. India could be 166/5, or even 166/6 right now.Why do Channel Nine commentators treat their viewers like brain dead mushrooms? ...insisting a result in this match is still possible. Probably should stay here considering its directly related. I'll do mine tomorrow as well. The Series report cards for the players and ratings out of ten will be interesting.
Everyone should do one - I'll do mine tomorrow morning.
Worthy of a separate thread?
One of the positives that came out of Sydney controversy. Hope they continue with this policy....especially when one or two bad decisions could cost you match. How awesome is it that umpires are referring unsure decisions this match? First with Tendulkar not out, and now with Ganguly being given out.
Both of them could have been wrong, and it would have started controversy all over again.
Cool, I'll be interested to read your (and other people's) thoughts on Johnson.Probably should stay here considering its directly related. I'll do mine tomorrow as well.
Sure would have been possible if Warny and McGrath were still around. Sadly for Australian supporters no one from current bowlers seem to have that effect. No, there is still a big chance. Dravid is out, RP Singh is out, Kumble has a back spasm. India could be 166/5, or even 166/6 right now.
If India get bowled out within the next 20 overs, Australia will win.
