Shahid Afridi showing why he is such an awesome batsman. Geez, anybody who can score this many this quick must be one of the best ever.

Zimbabwe really need to look into playing 4 bowlers, rather than trying to pick a batting allrounder at #8 every game. Their top order is actually (comparatively against their bowling) strong and the bowling continues to struggle, especially the fifth bowling option. Chigumbura may open the bowling, but he is a batting allrounder, and he's spent most of the recent past at #8. Dabengwa will probably bat #8 today but he's much of the same. It's not like Utseya, Brent, Mahwire, Mupariwa and Price are mugs with the bat, either..

Zimbabwe forced to bring Mupariwa back early. This means we'll probably see Williams bowl at the death. Things looking a bit grim now.

Just five runs from the last nine balls, things are looking up for Zimbabwe :p

Yeah. I wouldn't get too excited though. As much as the Zimbabwean batting lineup is under-rated, it sounds as if the pitch has a bit of life in it, and
Pitch is flat. PAK are gonna need 250+ to have a good chance of victory here, and I guess they will get it now after Afridi's awesome innings. Really loved the last wicket partnership, running between the wickets was excellent, esp from Misbah Ul Haq.

Poor captaincy from Masakadza. Miscalculating and leaving Brent one short was horrible considering what had gone on before re: the fifth bowler.

Top partnership from Williams and Taylor. Zimbabwe very much still in this with Chigumbura still to come to up the rate. These two have played Afridi and Malik very well - virtually no risks taken but both bowlers going at around a run per ball.

Williams is dead set quality, also has a pretty good FC record.

Not a bad batting effort from Zim so far. The bowlers just left them a little bit much to chase though and they always just seemed slightly off the pace. The fifth bowling combination hurt Zimbabwe again and I don't really see the point in picking a batsman who bowls at #8 when your batting is stronger than your bowling..

zimbabwe played really well...I dont understand y they didnt win...they always had wktz in hands n they were continously making partnerships including the huge one of 100 runs...and pak wasnt bowling that well, too. I think Pakistan still has a very weak bowling attack...I was looking forward to Sohail Khan...but he didnt play I hope he plays the next match...then for sure bowling would be rocking with the two Sohails...Sohail Tanvir and Sohail Khan
btw Afridi my hero was outstanding ofcourse

lol yeah u r right...but I meant Pakistans bowling was weak....they had a big partnership...always had wktz in hands...I mean then u must b totally the worst thing when u still manage to lose the match

Water off a ducks back, Zim are used to losing.

In saying that, the batting was pretty good. Good signs recently that at least 1 or 2 players are getting in.

I think the top 6 for Zim was ideal, they were certainly missing Utseya, Dabengwa didn't do much at all.

If it wasn't for Afridi, Zim most likely would have won, so good on Afridi.

They didn't win because their fifth bowler combination conceded 102 runs off 11 overs. That was the only real difference between the two teams: that and Afridi's innings. Their batting was fine but they bowled very poorly at times.

Their batting was by no means fine. You have to be able to accelerate with wickets in hand in ODIs or you won't win many at all. They have some quality bats in the order but they have to show a bit more faith in themselves and go after the opposition bowlers every once in a while.
