Yeah I agree. People who are calling this for India already are being premature. Yes, a 400+ chase has only happened a few times ever, but how many times in the last 10 years has a team been set a target between 400 and 500 with a good batting lineup on a pretty decent wicket?I seriously don't think a high fourth innings score is out of the question. For quite a while there have been musings on CW that a 500 fourth innings score was just around the corner and if any side can do it, it'll be Australia. It's not a certainty and India are comfortable favourites, but rule Australia out at your own peril especially with this pitch.
It's not a total road but it's a decent batting pitch, Australia have a good lineup and India's attack is fallible IMO. They bowled very well in the first innings but if Australia get through the new ball none of the seamers are world class. A 400+ chase is definitely possible, even if a 400+ chase would still make India favourites.
