Looking at Noon, NW seems to be a level off where he should be in batting and bowling. Oh well he is coming along nicely, just popped in bowling.

In today's BT20 match against wakatipu, my lot did rather well with the bat -- 214/1, with the wicket of Hayward coming at 129. Fish cracked 104 from 55 balls, and Reed 51 from just 24.

That's on a dusty pitch in sunny conditions.

In reply, the opposition are 145/3 at the 16 over mark, with the RRR soaring to 17.50. I'm only a single wicket away from the numpties, so this should be a win.

With a few notable exceptions (Perry, McGregor and John, IIRC), my PFLs are all at sublime, so I've fielded almost a 1st XI.

UPDATE: And there's the win. They did pretty well to reach 191/6, with Brooker (4-0-30-4) the pick of the bowlers by quite some distance.

Pops:
Fish to Remarkable conc (Qual batting)
Hardy to Feeble conc, Superb cons (Qual bowling)
Buckley to Prof conc (Prof batting)

I'll be swapping some nets around this week, giving my first choice bowlers a stamina net each. Sandwith and Fish as well.

Predictably got slaughtered against Dead Badger's Beard XI today:

The Heath CC: 109/10 (19.4) Gardiner 40 (36), Kepler 30 (26), Pead 3/23 (3.4), Wilde 3/26 (4)

Woods bowled 2 overs for 35 8-)

Would rather a Muralitharan/McMillian over a Canning/Kealey type player. Less nets, basically similar role in the overall side, if you train a couple other guns around them.

Ash, I presume there'll come a time when players' Stam declines so quickly that it'll be impossible to shore it up with a Stam net. However, my experience so far is that at ages 33 and 34 players lose one level of Stam per season, which is well manageable Atm. In short, I'm not too sure, but I'd hazard a guess at 37/38, although a lot depends on what their Stam was to start with. I'm currently keeping a 34YO going with a Stam net, although he was only Comp to start with, I'm presuming that Sup Stam would have given him much more longevity.

BTW into Round 7 of the BT20 today, think we're at the last 32 stage, but not sure? Still a fine effort from the boys to get this far! Although I'm a little concerned that I've ****ed things up today. Against a side I should beat easily, I've TIEd and switched the order around a bit, to give Greening and Noon a blow. But Patel is taking far far too long and I'm only looking at a score of 150'odd, which will be tough to defend.

If I was to be given either, I would go for the Canning/Kealey, simply because as individual players they're better. But if I had to train one, I'd also go for the Muralitharan/Mcmillan player, much less nets, much better opportunities to train other players.

I also managed to make the final 32 of the BT20, winning by 4 runs :D However, I lost by 9 wickets to Labrooy today. I did make 153 though.
