Jones and Davis aren't too bad. The latter did decent last year. Played in a better team though.
Claude Davis is on current 'form' the single worst central defender I have ever seen in my life - and I have more miles under the bonnet than I care to count. His attempts at defending today were nothing more than a comedy of errors, culminating in him receiving his marching-orders for elbowing Emile Heskey.

As for his form whilst playing in a better side, why on earth do you think that Sheffield United's supporters nicknamed him 'Bombscare', and why do you think they declared a national holiday in the city when they found some sucker to part with 3.5 million for him?

He might well show decent form when he is on international duty, but in the league, he is an utter liability.

Ask any Preston supporter if you want a third opinion.

I have nothing against him personally - he is an honest trier but that is all that can be said for him on current form. Don't get me wrong - I am not holding him responsible for Derby's abject position, and it's not his fault that he is out of his depth, but you do not let the high ball bounce if you can get to it on the full. He is so jittery that he commits that cardinal sin at least once per half.

2/10 today. 1 for putting his boots on the right feet and the other 1 for getting sent off and improving our side.

Like the way Alan Smith got sent off for arguing about the 6th goal. Without being funny Alan, did it really matter that much to get a suspension?

Mind you, think a fair few of theirs would rather have been off the pitch by that point.

That was precisely the incident I was referring to.

Alan Smith is a bonehead though.

(look who's talking - a supporter of a side containing Danny Mills, Andy Todd and Robbie Savage).

Oh must have only performed well or decent in the few games I saw.

He was right though.

Has their been a lot of rain in the Manchester area CPR? Judging by the pitch, it didn't look too good for mine.

Definatly Michael Owen was pretty unlucky to have had that goal ruled off-side, they probably still would of lost, but who knows how the result may have panned out. TBF though MU were denied a clear penalty earlier so it was once apiece on that regard. Had to laugh at how Cristiano Ronaldo seemed to have cry everytime he didn't get a free kick or penalty in the first half, it was classic. Harden the **** up and get on with it.

Having had 19 hours to cool off, on reflection we did see some decent stuff from Claude in the early part of the season, before it went totally pear-shaped.

I think when morale is so low, the first thing that goes out of the window is concentration, and that might be his big problem.

He's not on his own though in that. Derby have made so many defensive howlers this season, and usually at key times in the game - often in the last 5 minutes when all the previous hard work has been undone.

Derby are a shambles, and the defeatist attitude is there for all to see. Paul Jewell will have to exorcise it over the next few weeks, just so we can start next year in the Championship without the excess baggage.

That probably means that every one of Billy Davies's signings will be out of the door. A defeatist attitude, once established, is like a cancer - and it has to be cut out.

Nah he wasn't, see it from a decent view (ie not from where the bar blocks the view of the line) and you can see the whole line.
There's the one view where when it hits the floor a puff of white shoots up, pretty much like hitting a line on a clay court in tennis.

Haven't seen that tbf.
I've seen 3 views of it, there's the one right on the line with the posts in the way (although aren't they the width of the line anyway?) and then one from about 30 yards out and at an angle where it actually looks in but then the puff of white one was from directly behind the goal.

Eddie, I have not seen much of County this year but can you confirm that Benny Feilhaber is one of the worst players to ever play in the Premiership? I have seen him 'play' a few times this year and he was so bad it was scary.

Has been raining a bit, not anything over the top. Old Trafford has a notoriously poor pitch though. Always gets like this at this time of year, never holds up for the season. Comes partially from the type of grass used (cant use normal, as the high stands mean not enough sunlight for it to grow), and partially from the fact we let rugby league cut it to shreds whenever they seem fit. We've always got a toss pitch in january after the Challenge Cup final.
