Yeah, I thought that too. Given a day to cool down he would probably have been far more moderate. Although, in the light of the days play, imo, his remarks are understandable.Kumble must have been under tremendous pressure having been present for most of the latter part of the last day on the field and with all that went on there and later on. It was clearly something he would have avoided saying a day later. However one felt about it, it was unfortunate that he used that phrase and I am sure Kumble would be wishing he had not used it.
Its not easy even for someone who is as level headed as Anil Kumble to maintain equanimity all the time. Maybe someone else like Sachin should have been asked to address the press conference at that time. Its never easy to remain cool in the face of a media willing you to provocation.
However, fwiw, I do believe that he should have shook hands with the umpires. Granted they were incompetent and a disproportionate share of decisions went against India. Even so, not doing so can only be seen as petulant and more than a little childish.
In any case, as I said above, I hope all this 'hoo-ha' does not distract the team from Perth.
