Australia didn't play the Sydney test in the true spirit of the game?

What interests me alot with regards to infrastructure is that Tim Southee and Hamish Bennet, two young NZ bowlers, went the the Dennis Lillee academy in India. You'd think India wouldn't let other nations use their country to learn their trade would you? Of course I don't know whether its run by the BCCI or by Master Lillee himself but I would have thought India would at the very least want 99% of the pie for themselves.

Meh, Australia has been taking in Indian players at their academy for a fair while, on some sort of scholarship program. I'm sure that there are mutual agreements in place between cricket boards - if we scratch your back, you'll scratch ours.

Also, are those academies actually run by BCCI themselves, or independently?

Used to be independently run with sponsorship dollars coming from MRF - might have changed

MRF runs that academy and always bring over overseas fast bowlers. The more Test bowlers they produce the better it looks for them and more money they get.
