Wes Brown has always struck me as a reasonable performer, there was a time where he struck me as being more competent than rio ferdinand (that needless to say is no longer the case), makes the occasional error but a fairly decent player I always thought.

Can't really remember him ****ing up very often. Consistent, and that's exactly what you want in a defender (well, unless they're consistently bad...).

Surprised that £2million was offered when he's out of contract in just six months' time. I don't expect him to be sold, though. As for a replacement, I imagine that's Piqué/Evans.

Tom Halsey

International Coach
oh yeah agreed in terms of their sucess, its more benitez than the club in general that I have a problem with at the moment tbh, its the way that he spends about £50m in the summer (some on players who have hardly featured) and then moans when come Christmas the team has been decidedly mediocre, and teams who have spent far less (chelsea and arsenal) are having much more sucess, but yet he still whinges when he doesnt get more money, I mean WTF!! hes spent loads already, if you cant assemble a decent side with what he had in the summer (loads of funds and a pretty decent squad already) then something is surely amiss, the fact that there is always a not so subtle dig at the referee always annoys me as well, its often these days we hear crap like "I'm a big fan of this referee, he had a great game today, but unfortunately he got the big decision WRONG and this cost us the match". Load of balls.
Haha yes, Benitez is an arse of the highest order, agreed there. Would dispute the Chelsea claim, their success is still largely based on those brought in that did cost money, however the Arsenal claim is definitely true - consistently spent far less, consistently far more successful.

Going off to see the Mighty Spurs thrash Reading at the Lane tomorrow. A repeat of that 6-4 game would be very entertaining (and also heart-attack inducing).

Mansfield beat Brighton 2-1. Have to say, i'm impressed, first time we've been in the 4th round that i can remember.
