What's up with Ponting's love affair with Mitchell Johnson? The guy has been very ordinary this entire series and hasn't looked close to taking a wicket in this innings. He should've been removed a good 1 hour ago.
Not just that, but bowling those many overs at 140+ has gotta take something out of you. It's not economical.

In any case I think Waugh > Ponting as a captain. This is the time Australia really miss a Warne and a McGrath.

I'm wondering why Stuart Clark wasn't on ages ago. Punter persisted with Lee to help him get a 5-fer but his persistence with both him and Johnson was a bit excessive.

I guess Ponting's had a change in his preferences so Riana better get alert!

Parallels with this second match first innings batting from India with the second Test in England anyone? Interesting to note as the commentators mentioned is the lack of proper practices matches, something that was prevalent in England as well. Not a coincidence imo.

Yeah, the BCCI do as much as possible to prevent India winning away test matches, rather than helping them.

Not really. India had two warm up games prior to the first test in England.
