[Hopeless digression]Does anybody recommend that I bother with KP's autobiography? I pulled it out of the wrapping this morning but am somewhat circumspect in light of what I have heard and read about it.[/Hopeless digression]

BTW: skinhead means guys with rowdy behavior here in SL. Does it mean any other thing to you, I don't know.
In most other places in the world the term 'skinheads' mean those who are bald or who have shaven their head.

I followed Peter Oborne's advice that the book was "a study in narcissm, and should be avoided at all costs".

Of course, now I've done that I'll probably read 50 other reviews all of which will give it the rave wraps. Indeed, I've already read another since said Oborne piece which suggested it is of great interest.

Does Yuvraj edging the ball and standing there shaking his head at the umpire count as one of the 'worst cases of blatant cheating' for you?

I wouldn't say it's one of the worst cases, but I was pretty disappointed with Yuvraj in that situation. I've seen a few replays of his dismissal, and I didn't think he edged it, but he should never have stayed at the crease for that long.

And Yuvraj should remember, as he signs the cheque for his fine, that he had got away with a bat-pad a couple of overs before...

Still, two bad pieces of umpiring don't equal each other out.

Yup umpiring standard today was pretty dire to say the least, anyways i think when a batsman nicks a ball and even if its a faint nick he still knows that he has hit the ball but still there aren't many walkers in the game, most of the batsmen believe that they get good and bad decisions so its best to let the umpires make the decision on whether they are out or not so shouldn't it be the same when it comes to fielder claiming catches just let the umpires decide whether a player has caught the ball cleanly or not.

All the more reason to get rid of as much bad Umpiring as possible.

I've played enough cricket to state this to be untrue.
Haha, bloody oath. Especially those nicks that you don't feel, but you hear it as it goes past the bat. As I walk off, I'm angry and feel hard done by, until I sit down and have a proper think about it.

Just saw it. Petulance rather than an attempt to cheat for me, as Bowden had already (erroneously it seems) raised that crooked digit of his.

I know Fiery can act like a knob, but I reckon he was perfectly justified in being disgusted with Clarke's actions in this case.

I know its been posted around the forums a bit, but Clarke's claimed catch was not even one of those "oh he may have had his fingers underneath" ones. It was just blatantly obvious he didn't, and even if he maybe believed he did, he should have shrugged his shoulders.

Really don't like the fact that he's pretty much next in line for Australian captaincy.

I wish Peter Roebuck's fantasy world would come to life, and Simon Katich was the next Australian test captain. Gotta love the Kat man :D

It was fair enough for him to start a thread about it, but looking at some of the other comments he made, it's little wonder he's banned and people didn't take him seriously. Pretty weak really, and obvious that his anti-Murali and anti-Australia attitude was coming out.

In any case, I didn't that it was that bad. There was enough doubt about it, but if you look at the way Clarke's hands were held after they came up of the wrong, then he may well have had the bottom of his hands just under it, although it certainly didn't look like that when the catch was taken.
