Players claiming catches

I know Fiery can act like a knob, but I reckon he was perfectly justified in being disgusted with Clarke's actions in this case.
What's annoying is when people make a fuss about cases like this one and the Murali one (when no-one else is) when they have no bearing on anything, really. If it'd affected the result then fair enough to kick-up a bit of a doo-blahdy. And posts like this are shockingly poor form, no other way of describing it.

That's a very cheesy bit of moral relativism.

You're basically suggesting cheating is mitigated if the team who cheats were winning anyway.

Not mitigated, obviously. But what's the point in kicking-up such a storm if it made no real difference?

In any case, what annoyed me more than anything about Fiery was that he saw cheating in anything and everything.

Because it is still cheating. The circumstances around it shouldn't affect whether people react do it.

Leaving aside the fact that it was probably never in reality synonomous (in reputation maybe), while obviously you want a game to be played fairly I honestly couldn't imagine it'd bother me if the piece of unfair play came after the result of the game it occurred in was already a foregone conclusion.

Unfair play of any kind is obviously always reprehensible and every effort should be made to cut it out. But I'm always baffled when people make such a fuss when it doesn't actually affect the result.

You're a strange chap sometimes.
