Haven't seen the game as I've been busy all day, but a) I'm not surprised by the result and b) I'm not really worried as I was expecting it.

You've been in Aussie long enough to start supporting them anyway..

Sucks to be a New Zealander living in Australia right now....
Another doom and gloom post from James. Are you ever happy about anything? What's new about this situation - we lost to Aussie in Aussie. The last time we went remotely OK there was in 2001, while before that? Probably 1985-86? Bear in mind Aussie rugby is in such a bad state they've had to poach Deans, and things aren' all bad.

Yeah Pup ain't a cheat if he felt he hadn't caught it clean he would told the umpire about it
Yeah, sure he would have.... 8-)

,anyways great win by us .
Us?? Were you out there?

Hopkins should have stood his ground if he felt that wasn't a clean catch but he was obviously in hurry to catch his plane to New Zealand
Yes, he was in a hurry to catch a plane to NZ. I'm sure that's exactly why he didn't stand his ground. 8-) 8-) 8-)

I still hold a NZ passport and have not taken out citzenship, so I think I'm well within my rights to support the Blackcaps. Plus wouldn't it suddenly make me look like a glory hunter to instantly change support because I could? If I ever took citizenship, it would be for voting purposes only.

Hey if pup11 is allowed to support Austtalia and IIRC he is Indian and Greg Thomas (NZT) is Australian (?) but supports New Zealand, so I think I'm just fine where I am.

And they scrapped the Australian Rugby Championship after one year, so there is basically nothing after Super 14.

Personally, I despise people who support other country's teams against their own just because they're better. Although, I was being fairly light-hearted in your case - if someone has lived in a country for long enough, I can understand them changing allegiances.

I used to roundly abuse a girl at journo school who supported Aussie just because she liked George Gregan and because it annoyed others. That's probably why I only got to first base with her...

Personally I couldn't stand George Gregan.

I'll let you hammer on about Fiery. Its always good to know you Kiwi's always can always find something about a trans tasman match to hang on to regardless of the result.

Catch or no catch it was disappointing day though. The desire to fight is lacking from some of these boys, and that’s what makes New Zealand teams, there ability to use every bit of their ability to match the opposition.

patronising tripe
How so.

I have respected New Zealand cricket teams for many years for their ability to fight against the odds, against countries that look so much better on paper by working so much harder at their games and finding the fight to win.

Since the South African tournament I’ve been disappointed by the team as their appearance to be able to muster that traditional fight needed to win against the bigger nations does not seem to be there.

How is this patronisng?

you dont have it while Bracewell is coach.

You seem to think I am some biased Aussie with no regard for cricket or anyone outside of Australia. Its entirely not true as international players and teams regularly excite me, but if New Zealand keep up this effort their heading backwards and fast.

Anyway, I'm going to bed now.

The last point I'd like to make is that Michael Clarke is a cheating little ratbag

Volty i support Australia and every bloke who supports a team is very much a part of that side in a way, cricket or for that matter any team sport won't mean anything if every team doesn't have its own set of fans, so i don't see any reason why you should find anything wrong in a fan addressing the side he supports as "us"!

Volty i support Australia from a very young age and it has got nothing to do with them being better side, even if they struggle to win a single game in the future i would still support them.

Pretty much disappointed with NZ performance in the third ODI. Batsman played some bad shots and gave away their wickets. Styris was really excellent. He played some classy shots which remembered me of Jadeja's aggresive batting....
