About Capello. His resumè is excellent:

AC Milan: 4 Serie A titles + 1 Champions League
Roma: 1 Serie A title
Real Madrid: 2 Liga titles
Juventus: 2 Serie A titles (although they have been cancelled).

However, there are lots of people here in Italy who do not like Capello. First of all: he is not very nice. Then:

- He only coached excellent teams. His AC Milan was one of the greatest teams ever. When he won the title with Roma, he had a wonderful team, maybe the greatest team Rome ever had.

- He had some failures, too. First of all: he only won one Champions' League. That AC Milan should have one at least another one. His Roma and Juventus did not play well in the Champions League. Someone says that he should have won the 2001-02 Serie A title with Roma.

He is known for being a dictator. He hates prima donnas and maybe for England this might be a good thing. So... let's see what's going to happen.

Will be interesting to see how England can find a way to flog again, even with a good coach. Also is this Capello first international post?

Capello never coached any national teams. Just clubs. And he always coached top teams: AC Milan, Real Madrid, Roma, Juventus.

Trivia: Italy won twice at Wembley vs England. In 1973 and in 1997. Both matches ended 1-0. In 1997, the goal was scored by Zola. Who scored the winning goal in 1973?

What about France? I mean how many of their players come from Africa, or their parents were born there? Otherwise guys like Vieria, Makelele would be playing for Senegal for example.

Capello scored it. BBC have had a link to their footage of it on the BBC sport site for the past few days.

Difference being most of them actually grew up in France.

Anyway unless I'm missing the obvious in all of your examples, apart from the three Spanish players, they are all internationals anyway, and don't Milito and Ayala hold Italian passports instead?

Besides Riquelme has re-joined Boca Juniors anyway.

Been dying to draft Cudicini in since he became eligible tbh
a bit too old for my liking plus i somehow doubt whether he would want to play for England, but if he does show interest why not. Another strong option would be Almunia, i have been very impressed with him of late plus he has stated he wants to play for England so thats a positive.

Don't want to overhype it but i have strong expectancy that Capello can turn England into the top side that we deserve to be, without doubt he is the right-man based on what i saw at Real Madrid last season its pretty much the same task he has with England. The most interesting thing of his reign will be how England play under him TBH, will he turn us into another Italy or will he get the players playing at that fast-pace physical stuff that they are used to every weekend.

Either way i'm looking forward to seeing his tactics & what squads he selects, at least i know now that the best possible players will be selected & i won't have to be banging my head on the desk when i see garbage players like SWP, Downing, Defoe, Bent, Phil, Smith being picked.

Bring on the New Englad...

you do realise these are the exact same players you were saying were worthy of a starting place in the team about 3 months ago?

and as for the england job being a similar task to real madrid last year? that couldnt be further from the truth, outrageous suggestion.

He's doing a good job atm, but he's probably better off getting capped in a couple of years rather than end up like Francis Jeffers.

Yeah, true. Just read on BB Sport that Capello plans to learn English in a month. Am intrigued to see if that's possible.

haha, yoyoyo flag up off-side WTF? Show me wear i suggested that anyone of those players should be in the squad let alone the starting line-up?. Don't put words in my mouth son.

My disklike for Phil Neville is well documented, i never wanted Downing as a back-up left-sided option to Cole i was calling for Matt Taylor last season but unfortunately his progress as been messed up at Pompey, this season i called for Young & he was selected but Mclaren still kept Downing.

Same goes for SWP & the Tottenham benchwarmners. Always preferred Bentley & Pennat over SWP & i know for a fact i was the only one calling for Becks when he was back firing for Madrid in March, also i have been calling for Agbonlahor & Ashton for while but Ashton injury worries have halted his chances of playing for England since the WC.

Its similar, Real after winning the 2002 Champions league developed this ``Galactico era`` & up until last year won nothing, it was just a bunch of stars who failed to play as a team unfortunately. He came in roughed up a few starts & had them playing as a team for the & they won the league, then was dropped since the heads at Real didn't want Real playing with a so called defensive mid-set which to me was total nonsense since they played some brilliant attacking football in the end of last season i remember watching a game where they came back from 3 goals down to win.

With England his task is just the same, to have all our stars playing as a team just the way they play for their clubs, or to find whatever system needed to get the best out of them.

lol definately, based on that press conference that i saw. But if he does grasp English good enough in a months time at least we can be sure he really is serious about leading England to success.

Fairly certain you did include at least some of them in one of your massively long tactical essays.
