Can't understand why the Black caps have got stuck into Taity he made a very valiant point about the weakness off the New Zealand batsmen against genuine pace, but it seems to have pissed off the Black caps because its really mad on their part to fire up a young fast bowler like Taity it could only make him more determined to do well, all said and done pretty dire comment from McCullum.

Not at all. When a side bats first in an ODI they're always at a disadvantage. They'll often be uncertain of what a decent score will be, how to go about getting that score, and how to play the bowling on the pitch. Often that'll lead to them playing too conservatively (or maybe even too aggressively) causing the side to fail to fulfill their run scoring potential. This can really let poor bowling outfits off the hook. In comparison, the side that bats second knows exactly what they have to do, and will have already learnt about any demons (or lackthereof) in the pitch, thus giving them an advantage.
I dunno, Tait seemed to be getting ahead of himself implying the kiwi's were afraid of him and Lee on the basis of one 20/20 match, especially considering that he was one of the main culprits in last years 3-0 hammering. And I think McCullum's in a pretty fair position to comment on it, considering he didn't seem remotely intimidated while he was flaying them all around the adelaide oval.
He also owned and scared the crap out of them in the World Cup.

I dunno personally, sure he took three wickets, but one was clearly not out (Fleming caught behind when the ball clearly came off his arm), and another was Michael Mason, hardly one of our batting titans. He was also pretty expensive. I thought McGrath and Hogg were the real destroyers in that game...
I'm sure he did. In any case, for him to come forward and declare the opposition are scared of him, on the basis of one or two performances is a bit much, especially since his overall performances against the New Zealand team have been pretty average. Indeed, if you look at his stats against New Zealand in comparison to how he's done against everyone else, one would certainly struggle to say he has the kiwi's running scared. They're not bad, but compared to his career stats, they're not exactly flash either.
Yeah, in one 20/20 game when we were trying to score 10 an over. And to make the point again, McCullum hardly looked uncomfortable against him on Friday.
