It is a very flat pitch with a bit of bounce (though not any where near Perth like). Expect Australia to chase 300 on this pitch..That many. Really?

280 is defendable on this pitch. It's quite slow already will get slower as the night goes on, not many teams win batting second in Adelaide. Plus, there's a huge could cover coming in without a massive drop in temps (about 30-odd degrees right now) which means humid conditions and lots of swing. If NZ make it to 260, they'll be in with a good chance. 280 will be very tough to chase down.

Gun innings by McCullum and good effort by Taylor. How would be disappointed not to go on. The less said about Lou the better 
(he will come good, I know it).
Oram needs to get a wriggle on here. He can absolutely murder attacks at the death. He needs to push the score past 250.

Scoring a low total could mean that Martin won't go for as many runs as he would if we were bowling first.

After a terrible start - brilliant comeback from Tait to concede less than sixty runs (3-59). Probably not enough here unless Oram or Mills land some real blows here.

Haha Mills, cracks as six off the final ball. Bracken continues his less than impressive record against the Kiwi's.
250 would be defendable...if we had Bond. I simply don't see an attack containing Gillespie and Martin, two players who should only play tests, keeping the Australians down.

Good shot to end the innings, but that score is a huge disappointment considering where we were at the halfway point, and shouldn't offer the aussies too much trouble.
Great knock by McCullum, though I'm still not convinced about playing 3 openers at the top. In my view, if they're going to persist with McCullum at the top (and now one can only imagine that they will) either How or Vincent should be dropped. Taylor should be batting at no. 3, that's were he's used to batting, and he provides us with some good hitting power at the top of the order.
Anyway, hoping for another Kyle Mills special to make this one close.

we only used 5 bowlers
that's the sign of a good attack... i suppose.. really happy with our bowlers after the first 20 overs
NZ could not get a better start than today.... and they only made 254...
that said setting a target isnt as easy as chasing one for them..
last ODI played in Aus we couldnt chase a score lower than that and we all thought it was a flat track .... although under the lights the ball did ****loads and we were missing Roy (Gilly out first ball)
its a good total ... but both games NZ defended in RSA they loss

i must say Patel not playing baffles me.. he would've been hard to get away and spinners are the go in Adelaide
