Arsenal slipping up already? Pressure being felt by the youngsters.....
tbh i wouldnt say 1 bad result is slipping up, sure its a bad result, as middlesbrough are a terrible team, but the draw at newcastle can hardly be called a bad result, to come away from a ground like that, against a team that were really up for it and playing well is hardly a disaster.

I don't necessarily agree with that, Newcastle were on a terrible run prior to that game.

Reading the ESPN report, it sounds to me like Kewell had a good game? Set up a number of scoring opportunities apparently.

Story coming from La Gazzetta dello Sport that Arsenal are continuing the French speaking need at the club by signing young Milan midfielder Yoann Gourcuff for £15m. Gourcuff has been dubbed the next Zidane , but is barely playing at the moment but is supposed to have plenty of talent. The way the club is going, the first language a player will need will be French instead of English (if he isn't an English speak naturally or Dutch).

Yeah and Bolton are ****house. So it evens out.
Two things here - firstly, I didn't say that Bolton wasn't a poor result; it undoubtedly was. Secondly, Bolton have been on somewhat of a revival since Megson took over, and had gone to Munich and got a draw only a few days earlier.

And three United fans have been stabbed.

Not the first time this has been said, chuck Roma out. This, last year, Frisk getting coined, Boro fans getting stabbed, and so on.

Nothing will be done, they're not an English team.

Odd stuff on Sky Sports now, saying that the team finishing bottom of the English Premiership earn more (30million), in prize money, then the team that wins the Champions League (27million).

bizarre:wacko:

Yeah, it isn't hard to bring such items in. I've been to one game and I went with somebody and they had a backpack and the guy only checked like half of his pockets, who knows what could of been there. That said Camp Nou was like that and I've been to EPL games myself and they will check backpacks and the like, and walking in and out I didn't think there was anything stopping me carrying something dangerous in.

Think security is pretty impossible at such large sized grounds (never had so much as a second look from a steward going into Old Trafford), due to the sheer numbers. OK not checking backpacks is lax, but from a stewards point of view, if he starts checking things, those queueing behind start abusing him for the delay, and for the bog all an hour they get paid, they cant be bothered.

Has it been confirmed?
All but, from what I hear.

I'm pretty happy about it to be honest. There weren't any better candidates, going by track record.

football365.com raises an interesting point, though - it's make or break now for England. We finally are going to have one of the best managers in the world in charge, so if we don't succeed, then what? Are we just destined to fail forever?

Why not airport like x-ray machines?

You do that if you want to go to inside the Vatican (aside from having the right clothing on) or go on the London Eye for example.

absolutely right man for the job, couldnt be happier with the appointment tbh, last thing we need is a clueless english coach like gareth southgate, or a distinctly mediocre one like alan curbishley, for once the FA have got it right, and I hope for gods sake nobdy listens to the idiots complaining about there being no english coach's in the backroom team, its completely pointless, all the old crappy coaching staff are completely antiquainted and need to be replaced by a team that know what they are doing, i can now hontesly say i'm looking forward to watching england play again.

Best thing about Capello is that England are getting someone who won't tolerate crap and will also stand up to the club managers. McLaren was never going to stand up to the likes of Fergie given that he was the guy's assistant manager for awhile.

From the lack of media interest in the story (and the fact that British nationals were arrested) it’s fairly obvious that the ‘fans’ stabbed were hooligans and thus who gives a ****? You don't go to bridges which are notoriously used to settle disputes and expect a kiss and cuddle.
