State Vice-Captain
I'm not going to jump on the drop Ninesh mandwagon, give him a few tests, maybe even some in Australia, but what has he done to command a place in the team? Has it come from misfortune from others? Either way, his recent record says that he should be in the team and the consistent age factor plaguing the Indian team is also another reason why he should be persisted with.

Prediction for tomorow - Jaffer to be the first(?) Indian batsman to hit a triple.

Pure ownage by India. And tbh, whether you believe it or not, I was about to say at lunch time that Jaffer is gonna score a double but cbf going upstairs and logging in.

Anyways, Jaffer for 400.

This a rare instance where before a player has even reached 200, a triple hundred seems very much possible.

That says a lot about how Jaffer is playing, the condition of the wicket and the Pakistani attack.

Anyone read this on Cricinfo :-

Bharadwaj Das: "And I have my own problems. I keep reading cricinfo commentary for every match, and send in commentary feedback as well. But none gets published on the site. Do you know how much time I devote to cricinfo out of my work hours? And this is how I get treated. ***** Technologies is wasting so much money on me!"

(Not a good idea boss, to use your company's name, so I have put in a few stars. See how cricinfo helps you stay in the job!)

Worst attack ever?

Jaffer is an incredibly ordinary player and the fact that he could/should break every record in the book during this innings is a sorry indictment on the manpower available to Pakistan

It has been anything but an "ordinary" innings from him

Sohail Tanvir is a poor mans (circa 2006) Irfan Pathan. The guy opens the bowling for Pakistan sending down 73mph tosh with zero variation and what’s even more embarrassing for the young man is that his slow left arm crap he started bowling looked head and shoulders more threatening.

Really happy that Jaffer performed so well, not a big fan of his as I mentioned before but can't fault his performance. Hope he can get some consistency going with his batting.

Good start to the test for us. :)

India's hoping for the Multan script again. (Then 1st day 357/2, declared at 675/5 - notoriously leaving Tendulkar on 194 not out, then bowling out Pakistan twice).

The batting prince of Kolkata (ie Laxman) still to come, and Dhoni can flat-track-bully with the best of them, in a hurry too. Perfect situation for Harbhajan to do an Afridi-emulation with the bat so the batting is the easy part.

Really need to watch out for the draw. And with Younis and Yousuf, the Indian bowlers have their task cut out for them, is twice or more as hard as what Akhtar, Kaneria are going through. One thing going there for India is that both Kumble and Harbhajan have had 7-for innings and 10-for matches here.

Yeah, not sure about that. Pakistan made Ganguly look unplayable in the last test, can't see them fairing much better here. Innings defeat would be apt.

Statistical possibility for Jaffer's average to cross 40 in this innings itself.
I believe about 15 more runs and not out would do it, as would ~ 250 with
an out.

Something real to root for.
