No sympathy for Carlito.

He's a second generation wrestler with an attitude and lethargy in abundance. I don't know how or why he became the smarks darling, because quite frankly, he never struck me as being any good.

Average in the ring and average on the mic, yet loved by all. Baffling.

hmmm see your point, but I always quite liked Carlito, much less so in recent months, but between 05 and 06 I always thought he was pretty good, had some decent moves in the ring, whcih have been toned down lot recently, where i concede he's not great, I still think it sucks the way the E is burying him right now, loss after loss after....

that said, will look forward to Y2J vs Santino when RAW is aired on thursday over here!

Carlito always struck as someone dangerously pap, if you forgive my blatant plagiarism of your phrase.

I guess he was a decent by-the-numbers wrestler, but he never stood out at anything, like Shelton's athleticism or Santino's work in his skits lately.

Gotta say though, as much as I diss the creative team, they're doing a great job with Santi. When he burst onto the scene with his out-of-nowhere IC title win, it was pretty apparent he was rushed, because he was still raw in the ring. Now they're giving him decent mic time while he polishes his ring skills working with the excellent road agents the E do have. Will not be surprised if he turns out to be a very bankable talent in the future.

Which, incidentally, Harry Smith is not. His matches show he's still very green, and to get suspended for doing the same substances his dad threw his life away doing is just stupid.

funny that carlito actually jobbed to smith a few weeks back lol, must say when i saw smith a few weeks back (the only occasion in which I have) I thought the exact same thing, very RAW, get the feeling that he wouldnt be on TV were he not the son of Davey. Same can be said of Cody Rhodes actually, although he has improved a bit over the last few weeks..

as for carlito being pap....yeah i can relate to that, fair enough really, good use of my phrase lol.

just watched a bit of the Y2J/Santino face off on the wwe website, looks quite amusing, to be expected really, two great workers on the Mic, agreed again on the creative team with their treatment of him, really working well, his mic sessions remind me of the ones given by the rock whilst he was a heel running up to WMIX, very funny, and gets the fans wound up, good job that its worked out so well, as apparently he was close to getting fired before they turned him heel.

Then again, I might be 'slightly' biased towards Santino just because when he's around, there's a 50% chance of getting to see Maria.

Now that's a fine specimen.

rumoured that the rock is set to appear on the RAW 15th anniversary show coming up, hope so, that would be awesome, been too long since we last saw the rock make a proper RAW cameo, hopefully if he does show up it will somehow involve the coach and santino marrella, that would be great...

also its strongly rumoured that another big name is returning to the WWE, gotta say if thats true, i hope that its Christian, another guy who was massively underated in WWE and I would love to see return.

I read those two notes today as well, both got me very excited.

Apparently the Rock is most likely only going to appear on the screen rather than in person if he does appear at all, but going by the pop he got when he gave a TitanTron speech prior to WM23 I'd say either way it'll be huge.

The big name return is also interesting - Christian would be fantastic, he's gotten used to main eventing now in TNA and I can just imagine how incredible it would be to reintroduce him as another factor in the Edge-Taker feud.

Another name that could be in the works is Kurt Angle - he's reportedly been unhappy with TNA recently and there's an outside chance he might be willing to return on a reduced schedule, much like Michaels. This summer was a shocking few months, with so many guys out injured, but now with HHH, Rey Rey, Edge, HBK, 'Taker, Y2J and Flair all back on board, things are looking very good indeed.

yeah agree entirely, would be weird to see kurt angle back though, it feels to me kinda like he never was in WWE now....his last year or so as part of RAW/Smackdown was really weird, as he didnt have much character or anything....and taht was before his crazyness!

but that said, would be awesoem seeing him back, and tbh other than him or christian I cant really think of any "major" superstars who would be eligible in any way for a return...so it perhaps would be one of them...

Yeah, I'm racking my brains, and unless its someone from aaaages ago I can't think of who else it might be.

Actually now I'm remembering something...I read a few days ago that Psycho Sid wants to get back in the ring at age 47. Hope it's not him, all these insanely old guys who can't work any more (*cough* Flair *cough) should stick to managing. Young talent gets over far better by being managed by a legend than by beating a guy in the ring who's as old, saggy and generally moveless as Flair now is. Your average Flair match script now goes as follows:

Chop...chop...chop...chop...WOO!...chop...chop...chop...chop...gets vertical suplexed on the floor...chop...chop...testicular claw...chop...chop...WOO!...chop...chop...low blow...chop...chop...figure four leg-lock...win.

Dire.

in fairness to flair though, he's better in the ring than hogan is, and he can still take a beating, better than some of the younger guys on the roster, sells a beat down brilliantly, and i'm quite glad he's back tbh, if just for the star power if nowt else, but he can take beatings, e.g being suplexed off the top of a ladder at WM22, the countless beatings at the hands of edge he took over the last few years...

really hope it isnt sid, that guy's an idiot, so many botched promo's its unbelievable, laugh if its someone like ken shamrock.

Flair is a badass, I love him and his rubber chest and his crazy elbow dropping his jacket promo's. Maybe since he's retiring he'll finally hit a move off the top rope.

Also pretty sure it's going to be Psycho Sid, which I'm not bothered about either way. Unless they just mean Lashley coming back from injury, which I'd also not be arsed about. I hope in his time off he's been learning how to cut a promo.

Yeah, Flair is a hell of a lot better than Hogan. Flair can work matches if he's not booked to win them, for sure - he's taken more than one suplex off a ladder in the last two years and to still be doing that at 57 is impressive. The thing that gets me though is that he's still insistent that he be put over - the reason he took so much time off in the first place was because he didn't like doing the clean job to Finlay on SD!, and that's a guy who's been in the business 15 years himself.

Ken Shamrock, haha. He's a UFC trainer these days IIRC.

But now back to Hogan while I think of it - damn, is that guy bad lately. I can't see him coming back for any big angles any time soon, thankfully - I think his last two against Michaels and Orton have turned out so badly he's probably given up the ghost.

My god, just saw a bit of Smackdown - what the hell happened to Edge? He used to be absolutely ripped, with about 1% bodyfat. Now he's got a beer gut that Stone Cold would have been embarrassed by...

He's been out for 4 months - admittedly he was carrying a bit too much weight before that, but he'll be in better shape soon. Mysterio and HHH both looked a bit fat on their returns too.

When Trips came back from his torn quaddie he looked like some mutant escapee from a comic book - he was HUUUGGE, in a good way.
