England, England, England...... where to begin
Firstly. McClaren ****ed up. NEVER should've played Carson. If he really had lost that much confidence in Robinson (and wasnt just bowing to public pressure), then he should've played James. For more experienced and mature player, ok, not the best keeper on earth, has his crazy moments, but is the best English shot stopper going ATM. I'll let him off with the Beckham move, SWP was looking decent in the first half, and the idea of facing a player as intelligent as Beckham with 10 min to go, with him fresh and you mentally drained, isnt nice.
Now as for the performances.
Carson shouldn't have played. Made unbelievably stupid mistakes, couldnt kick, couldnt catch. For 7 minutes he was like a rabbit in headlights. After that, he was roadkill.
The Defence were shocking. Dont know who they were playing for really. 4 Guys, doing what they do for a living (actually, thats not true, Bridge wasnt earning thousands for sitting warming a bench), all speak the same language. Should be able to communicate with each other. Failed. Cost goals. Actually, Bridge nearly scored a beauty over ..... well, over Carson. Nice try lad.
The Midfield.... Well, did we have one? Because the Croats seemed to get from box to box without a problem. Last time the world saw 80 yards of turf with so many lifeless bodies was at the Somme. Lampard scored a penalty. That took his number of touches of the ball for the game upto 3. Barry was woeful. Gerrards passing was shocking. Each one was hit faster than a scud missile, impossible to control.
Only one of the starting XI who put his back into it was Crouch, did as well as anyone could expect of him really.
AS for a new manager. I want Mourinho. Bollocks if we need a top class coach, there only together 5 days at a time, where they learn nothing execpt how to play poker. Need a top class man manager, who's not afraid of the media, can get the best out of players, etc etc. Jose fits the job perfectally
