Richard's domination of threads and wanting to have the last word

Possibly because they don't like you? Does it really matter though? If they don't want you using their real names for whatever reason, you should have the sense to stop doing it.
If they're idiots towards me I don't really see why I should. I've no obligation, nor has anyone, to be thoughtful towards someone who does not return the favour.

And yes, it does matter, because frankly I want someone who's just searching for any excuse to make a fuss and try and create some trouble to be seen to be doing what they're doing. It makes no sense whatsoever for someone to dislike me using their name because they don't like me and not mind those who they do like using said name. There are several other CWers who don't like me (Smith, Murphy, Beevs for instance) who don't mind in the slightest if I refer to them by name or posting-ID.
It's the same with Francis using _Ed_'s picture as his avatar even though the latter was never fond of it.
Don't think it's the same at all TBH, Francis was using it because he liked Rich Edmunds and thought Edmunds didn't mind; he's now taken it down, having realised he did.

No, I'm sorry, this was not an excellent post, it was an extremely poor one.

One could argue that someone who claims "scientific testing poppcock" has no part to play in the detection of illegal bowling-actions should tread EXTREMELY carefully here...

I only patronise things that seriously deserve it, though, that's the thing - like one or two of the idiotic posts in this thread. I make a HUGE effort never to patronise good posters.

No, sorry, a) I'm far from the only person to refer to people by real-name; b) it's not a terrible habit, not at all, and only a tiny number have any genuine (rather than excuse-to-make-a-fuss) objection to it.

Do you honestly a) realise what a half-reduction would be and b) seriously think I don't think before most to all posts?
I'm not going to respond to you point-by-point, purely because I can't be bothered going over old ground... but I will respond to your last sentence (bolded). Yes, I do think you don't think before posting simply because you are so prolific and quick to respond to people that you simply don't have time to think about what you are saying or formulating an answer.

Jesus Christ i can understand why members have changed passwords to gibberish in the past. Some of the utter tripe posted by some people (and the shame is the number is growing IMO) is really ****ing me off. If it wasnt for the fair number of damn good posters on here, who are funny but mature at the same time (well, not always mature, always room for a :naughty: or two), i'd really give up and leave myself.
Don't you dare, I've been enjoying your posting of late.

I know for a fact Perm hasn't got me on ignore despite me asking him to. I stand by my original posts actually. Perm is a million times worse than Richard in my personal opinion. In fact they are the only 2 posters who I would ever say a bad word about. Perm is on a mission and the insults are mainly coming from his direction so I thought I would slip one in under his guard :p.

So I don't agree with you on that. Anyway, this is about Richard so not sure why you brought that up tbh
Those 4 words is what it all comes down to.
Just act the adult, end of.

This thread looks like so much fun I can't resist posting despite technicaly being "retired."

Firstly, I'm pretty sure I'm one of the posters CPR was reffering to posting ****. I retired mainly because I was posting **** but anyway moving on.

Richard can go on and on and on about things, and he can be one of the most fustrating people to argue with on the site. (Kiwipostereborn in the NZ-SA thread is the only one I can think of thats worse).

On forum names and real names, personally I don't mind if he uses my real name, the sky won't fall (I hope) but if some users don't want him to use their real names then thier wishes should be respected. On the people who only get hissy when Richard uses their real name but don't when others do, that strikes me as **** stirring but once again, their wish should be respected mainly because it will decrease the amount of bitching about it.

Richard of late seems to have made a genuine effort to improve himself and if he continues to do so then there should be few problems. I think a few people have formed a "Abuse Richard for his flaws" bandwagon that a few more have joined the party on and that is detrimental to the forum as well as Richards bad habits. People complain about the sheer volume of posts he makes but many other members number quite highly too, and at least you know if you ask a question or make a statement you'll get at least one answer whislt Richard is around.

As for the Fiery vs Perm thing, I know the problem:

Fiery is from Auckland
Perm is from Otago/Southland
There was always going to be trouble, reminds me of Martin Crowe vs Ken Rutherford.

Only way you're going to change that is a personality-transplant TBH. It's very annoying, frankly, that anyone would take the slightest of umbrage to that, in both cases I very deliberately was far less equivocal than I could have been, and made it very clear that it was a question to which there could be no definate answer.
Do you mean more equivocal (or less unequivocal) or are you actually proud of your efforts to make opinions sound like facts?

You using qualifications like “almost beyond dispute” & “mostly been” suggest the former to me.

Yeah, meant more equivocal (or less unequivocal, whatever sounds best), dunno why on Earth I said less equivocal.

Retired, Phlegm. Grow some balls man. Keep posting like you always have - I have no complaints. I can take the cyber-bullying you indulge in on the HD Cult of Personality thread ;)

Really, my biggest complaint is all this silly throwing your toys out of the pram posturing that people do for no real reason.

That's it... I'm gone.

Frankly, that's crap. Just because I wish to and can post quicker than some people doesn't mean I don't have time to think. That's a ludicrous thing to say, TBH.

Cripes, haven't a clue why that'd be TBH, I don't read close to all threads (esp. OT ones where cpr is so much more active) but of those I do I've generally thought you to be one of the least posting-crap types of recent times TBH.

You think? :p

'Tis pretty well accepted as "the way it is" really. Far more people than not have commented on the matter.

Would be nice if the bandwagon was forcibly stopped though, it does more harm than good. Dragging up your flaws in normal threads, for instance.

I've had a few...brain explosions. Took a week and a half (roughly) off because I felt like a break.

 WTF do you care Dwyer, you're patently a pre-prejudiced party and have absolutely no clue of the particulars, especially given that the trends you attempt to portray are obvious to all with an ounce of literary skill to be non-existant.

As said previously - where discussion of myself is concerned, everyone is so much better-off without the likes of you.
Richard, imo that first paragraph is not acceptable - implying that Bob has less than an ounce of literary skill is an insult, and not acceptable on the forums.

And that's different to this:
You are an annoying ****
how?

Yes, you could easily interpret it as an absolute insult, and frankly I don't mind if you do because I think he deserves it as he's been nothing but an idiot in my direction, several times. I'm not going to put-up with it forever.

It's also saying, though, and perhaps more importantly, "intelligent people will realise what he's trying to imply is non-existant" - ie, "you won't fool intelligent people". Less a comment on him than one that intelligent people will see through him.
