Richard's domination of threads and wanting to have the last word

richard's tendency to dominate and wanting to have the last word has kept this going...

That's right. It'll keep going until (a) Richard posts and no one replies, thereby making him believe that everyone now agrees with him because they're not replying, or (b) Someone with official access to the Forum Moderating Features closes it.

Can it please, please be the latter?

I'm happy to leave it open, the thread's been more productive than not and I think Richard has taken some of the advice on board. It's also better to keep all this stuff in one place than have it spread through the forum from time to time.

Yeah, like that's going to happen

Richard took none of this on board imo. He got hounded on for the first part, until people defended him, then he started to post. Nothing will change.

 WTF do you care Dwyer, you're patently a pre-prejudiced party and have absolutely no clue of the particulars, especially given that the trends you attempt to portray are obvious to all with an ounce of literary skill to be non-existant.

As said previously - where discussion of myself is concerned, everyone is so much better-off without the likes of you.

You are an annoying ****, Rodgie was an annoying ****. Rodgie got banned for being bad for the forum environment. He had many good points, and helped out with the communinty, you make many good points and help out with the community. Still he is gone and you are here. Why is that? Because of your huge post count? To keep the British - Australian ratio in tact?

No idea what the first bit of your post means, but i have asked you nicely before to please use my forum name when addressing me, if i wanted to be called Dwyer, or Chris, or Sir Sticklegs, i would have made that as my username. I would appreciate it if you remembered this next time.

If you stop debating, for mine, you concede to some degree..
I try and make an effort to make a post and then one response and then get out of a thread until something different is brought up.

Sometimes its not always possible and Ive been dragged into things before but it isnt desirable to just have pages and pages of back and forth nonsence. Few will ever read them and it takes a thread away from the general CW community and makes it a 2 man game.

I dont class myself as someone overly hard on Richard. Im happy to agree with and defend him (eg the turning old cricket film to colour thread). However, Im on record as saying I dont think his posting style and volume is good for the forum.

Imagine if there were 1 or 2 others that were the same. It would grind the forum to a halt. Now when evaluating a persons posting you must think "would more posters of a similar style and expession be of value to the site?".

We can just about cope with Richard and he is a 'cult' figure and an important member but if similar posters joined then it would be of a huge detriment to what goes on.

Rodgie got banned for any number of reasons, many of which you could quite possibly be unaware of. Amongst them was that everyone bar perhaps 2 or 3 people couldn't stand him. That I'm "an annoying ****" is, conversely, the opinion of a relatively small minority. Ergo, Rodgie gets banned and I don't.

It means you're very obviously someone who is never going to approach this with anything useful to say, all you're interested in is pushing your stupid angle of why I'm an idiot.

And I would appreciate it if you, and Bo***ch for that matter, offered an explanation of why you don't mind most people using your real names but mind me doing so. Until then, you're very obviously only saying it because you want something to kick-up a fuss about and try to cause trouble for me with.

Oh, and you haven't asked me anything, at all, "nicely", so don't pull that bull&%$£ out.

I actually agree about this, but there are and have been several of such members, tec, C_C and KaZo being the most obvious cases.

As I said earlier in this thread, it's just a case of me having to try and realise when my not-giving-up is having a detrimental effect on other posters.

Possibly because they don't like you? Does it really matter though? If they don't want you using their real names for whatever reason, you should have the sense to stop doing it. It's the same with Francis using _Ed_'s picture as his avatar even though the latter was never fond of it.

Excellent posts. Richard, your posting is one of the most frustrating things about this site. Many people stay away and many others have left simply because of your presence. You're excruciatingly annoying and overbearing on the site simply because of a) the sheer volume of dross you write, b) your argumentative nature c) your sickeningly patronising manner and d) the multitude of terrible habits you have, e.g, referring to people by their real names.

If only you would halve your output and think about what you write before posting then the site would be a much more pleasurable experience for everyone, because at the moment and for a long time, you just suck all the fun out of CW

He's about 1/1000000th as annoying as you tbh
There is an ignore function you know. I can't use it on you unfortunately
Yes, but you could be a bit more mature and not have made the first post in the first place. Posting an insult then telling them they should be ignoring you is about as mature as a Michael Jackson love interest. (incidently, he was replying to George's post quoting you, for all you know he could have you on ignore, but saw it in the quote.)

Relating this back to Richard (as you can do with everything on CW.... He's the Kevin Bacon of the CW world), sure he can annoy, sure he can make long posts stating the same again and again, but i'll defend him, because he's nowhere near as bad as some of the childish little ****s we have on here (dont take that as a comment aimed at you directly fiery, its a general comment summing up quite a few people thats happened to be raised due to your post. Infact i wouldn't class you in with them)

If anyone is destroying the forum and the atmosphere, its them. Jesus Christ i can understand why members have changed passwords to gibberish in the past. Some of the utter tripe posted by some people (and the shame is the number is growing IMO) is really ****ing me off. If it wasnt for the fair number of damn good posters on here, who are funny but mature at the same time (well, not always mature, always room for a :naughty: or two), i'd really give up and leave myself. Remember in the past talk about OT going dire, but dire is 100 times better than some of the **** in there these days.

(not gonna inflate anyones ego, but lets just say if i've replied or quoted you in a positive light, can probably say i rate you quite highly)

I know for a fact Perm hasn't got me on ignore despite me asking him to. I stand by my original posts actually. Perm is a million times worse than Richard in my personal opinion. In fact they are the only 2 posters who I would ever say a bad word about. Perm is on a mission and the insults are mainly coming from his direction so I thought I would slip one in under his guard :p.

So I don't agree with you on that. Anyway, this is about Richard so not sure why you brought that up tbh

Excellent posts.
No, I'm sorry, this was not an excellent post, it was an extremely poor one.
You're excruciatingly annoying and overbearing on the site simply because of the sheer volume of dross you write
One could argue that someone who claims "scientific testing poppcock" has no part to play in the detection of illegal bowling-actions should tread EXTREMELY carefully here...
your sickeningly patronising manner
I only patronise things that seriously deserve it, though, that's the thing - like one or two of the idiotic posts in this thread. I make a HUGE effort never to patronise good posters.
the multitude of terrible habits you have, e.g, referring to people by their real names.
No, sorry, a) I'm far from the only person to refer to people by real-name; b) it's not a terrible habit, not at all, and only a tiny number have any genuine (rather than excuse-to-make-a-fuss) objection to it.
If only you would halve your output and think about what you write before posting then the site would be a much more pleasurable experience for everyone, because at the moment and for a long time, you just suck all the fun out of CW
Do you honestly a) realise what a half-reduction would be and b) seriously think I don't think before most to all posts?

You did it in this thread, so i brought it up here. Doesnt matter how many billion times worse Perm may be in your eyes, if your asking him to put you on ignore, then ignore him yourself (oh, who cares if you cant click the ignore button, your brain can still disregard him).

Like i said, dont include you in with this, but the childish attitude of some posters is really, REALLY, ****ing me off at the mo, and contrary to what you say above, i felt calling him then telling him to put you on ignore was immature.
