Red complete negotiations with Ritchie

After complicated negotiations, Zac Ritchie today agreed with the CW Red management to a 2-year deal as spin bowling allrounder.

Blue to sign Bowen

CW Blue look to the future by signing young batsmen RF Bowen. Bowen averaged over 30 in the longer form of the game in his rookie season, appearing 13 times in and notching up a century along with 4 half centuries. Blue will be looking toward Bowen for more rearguard attacking batting in season 13.

It is expected Bowen to sign a two year contract with CW Blue.

Colts Release Two

The Cricketweb Colts have announced today that they are releasing two players for the coming season. Mat Hopgood and Manan Shah are the two players to be released. Cricketweb Colts captain Kyle Wright said that it was disapointing that both players were leaving the club, but the decision has been taken out of the Colts' hands.

"We haven't seen anything of Hoppy since the end of last season, he's not answering his phone, so we have considered him AWOL, we were hoping he'd return this season and really give our batting line-up a boost, but that will not be happening now. We hope he does return to CW Development cricket one day. Manan struggled for game time last season, and has not been committed at pre-season training, so we thought it better he get a fresh start somewhere else." Wright said in a prepared statement this morning.

Bastard. I was never happy with the leadership in the Colts organization, and there were political maneuvering by the captain and the management to ensure that I did not do well.

In the end, I am responsible for my own performance but I find it interesting that I was used only as a stock bowler and ordered to bowl negatively while the captain attacked from the other side. Though happy to do whatever it takes for the team, I am still a bit sour that such dedication was used against me when evaluating my performance.

It is well known that we did not see eye to eye on many issues, but it saddens me that the captain was unable to put this aside and focus on the task of winning. I am looking forward to playing for a rival club, and having a fantastic season to help them win. I want to thank everyone who supported me and stood by me (thanks mum!) during a difficult time with the dysfunctional mess that is the Colts.

Also, to the media: **** you.

EDIT: Honestly, I wasn't even aware that you were going to come back until we'd already signed eight other bowlers (all who were previously with Colts, too). I think we just had an overflow and you weren't very active last season at all.

That explanation is too reasonable to be true and I summarily reject it. I bet it was you who orchestrated the whole thing.
