BARNES OUT
Can someone sign the remaining (if there is any) so we can get this up and running?
Accepted. Sorry about the wait.CW Blue would like to offer young legspinner Ben Taylor a two year rookie contract.
When asked what he thought on this years rookies, Demeza commented "Yeah, there's been a lot of good kids recently put their hand up for the dev league. It's great. Taylor bowls a great wrong un and slider, hard to pass that up. He'll be competing with a couple other leggies at Blue, but the more competition the better the results. Our depth in all departments is looking pretty good, now"
CW Blue hope to go on a pre-season team tour, starting within the next week.
The fixed salary cap would have to be somewhere in the region of what we have it at now though, seeing as rookies are signed for free, and if all the players from last season returned, certain teams may have had a problem re-signing sophomores.I have to admit to feeling that the salary cap increase per season is not taking on board the fact that players are not always continuing. It might be an idea going forward to have a fixed salary cap. If we ever are at the point that we have 18 players per team (90 players total) then surely we can adjust to 15 players per team with a sixth team being made up completely of CW players. 16 would be the desireable amount, I would imagine, but I think it would be much more enjoyable on a whole if we allowed for more of us playing rather than more of us sitting on the bench. Then the "1-2 overseas players per side" routine would work wonderfully.
Likewise. Runs a little contrary to the entire concept.Regarding overseas players in Dev League teams, I'm not a fan of it.
