Woah, woah woah.

FYROM 2 - 0 Croatia.

And from the lack of activity in this thread, it looks like no one has noticed that.

haha, wonderful stuff this for England. I guess the notion that they are no easy games in football these days is really true.

Scotland unfortunate but they really ran Italy hard with some very crips passing attacking football in the second half & were brilliant in the air again when you see teams like Scotland with no star players doing so well against the world champions & England struggle to gell as a national team it really makes you wonder. Alot of people are arguing that they should have got at least a point given that the second italian goal was off a foul that was said to be committed by Hutton. But if you look a the game deeper Ferguson goal was off-side for me & Italy were definately 2-0 up when Di Natale scored. Solid campaign by them though would like to see them play England again soon would be a fantastic fixture.

Back to England though, hopefully no slip ups on wednesday. Will be interesting to see what formation McClaren plays on wednesday now. He can't try anything cute due to all this horrfic injury curse, (geez talk of the premiership having a winter break should be implemented) 4-5-1 is the only thing he could play or maybe 4-3-3 with Cole & Young flanking target man Crouch? naaaa

Was disappointed for Scotland but was also disappointed in them coming out and blaming the ref afterwards. OK, it was a **** decision, but a draw was almost certainly no good anyway, plus you were lucky with the ref earlier.

Fair play to the Israelis, restores one's faith in the legitmacy of the international game somewhat as they'd have been quite within their rights not to give an arse.

Avatar changed to our new national hero, Omer Golan, accordingly. :)

"****" doesn't quite cover it.

The worst decision since the Carroll Exception.

They had it coming, though. Di Natale's goal should've stood. And McFadden's two misses where he really ought to have scored at least the one really came back to bite them.

Besides, they really should've gotten it over with against Georgia.

And let's not forget that the Scotland goal was offside.

With England short of good strike options ahead of the croatia game Darren Bent who is bench warming Berbatov & Keane at a struggling White Hart this season s picked by McClaren over Agbonlahor who has is brilliant playing every week for an impressive Villa this season.

Ha, he is a funny manager why is he so afraid to pick these talented young players but yet can pick phil neville type players is very frustrating. At least England most important mid-fielder is available in hargreaves which leaves a possible 2 formations England could play on wednesday IMO:

4-4-1-1:

-------------------------------------------------------JAMES/CARSON--------------------------------------------------

RICHARDS-----------------------------CAMPBELL------------------LESCOTT--------------------------COLE

BECKHAM-----------------------------GERRARD------------------HARGREAVES--------------------COLE

-----------------------------------------------LAMPARD--------------------------------------------------------------------

-------------------------------------------------------------------------CROUCH--------------------------------------------

I expect this to be the side. Harsh on Barry who has been brilliant of late, but with Hargreaves fit now he has to play IMO & Gerrard will play since he is captain & has found form of late, while Lamps goal scoring pedigree could come to the fore with Hargreaves doing a Makele. Plus there is always becks to swing in a good free kick or corner to give us a goal if things get desperate.

4-3-2-1:

------------------------------------------------------CARSON/JAMES---------------------------------------------------

RICHARDS-----------------------------CAMPBELL-------------------LESCOTT-------------------------COLE

------------------------------GERRARD---------------HARGREAVES--------------BARRY---------------------

-----------------------------------------------COLE-------------------------LAMPARD----------------------------------

----------------------------------------------------------------CROUCH-----------------------------------------------------

This is the side i'd like to see TBH, especially the mid-field combination. Wouldn't go for 4-3-3 since Crouch doesn't have the strenght ala Hesky to overpower defenders long enough so that whoever plays on the wings could feed off.

So the wing fowards come in closer in pretty much a christmas tree formation. With this formation the mid-field has Hargreaves defensive qualities, Barry's vision & crips passing which really has been a revalation since he has played for England & Gerrard's box to box qualities.

Cole will play the position that he is playing for Chelsea which could be very good IMO since i personally feel he looks uncomfortable these days on the left for England i guess thats why Mourinho had wanted Malouda to go to Chelsea so badly & Lamps with the leg-work being done in mid-field just has to shoot...

Personally i think they'll play a 9-1-0 formation and go for the draw. To claim they'll do anything else is pure folly.
