Not for long. Bond and Vettori and even maybe Martin have far more class than he does.

Hmmm big Jake fails again. Its been a long time since i remember him making a decent score in international cricket. if this continues can he hold his place as a bowler? I think not. Lou Vincent will definitely come in next test for someone. I'd also like Patel to replace O'Brien. O'Brien's action reminds me of my little sister bowling, minus the run around the house and a few less arm rotations and no beamers. It may prove effective though. Good to see him get a wicket in the first innings.

If we can bowl them out tommorrow then we'll have two days to get the runs. Just tell the openers to take their time and concentrate on staying in. I'm sure if they get a well fought fifty or hundred each then the runs will start to come in the next tests.

And with regards to whoever it was comenting on Flemings mental ability, thats not the problem. He's played many great innings under pressure. its that stupid little jerky movement once again that he makes that got him. The LBW weakness that Chaminda Vaas exploits nearly got him out on the first day as well.

if we can get Kallis and Amla early then we're right back in this.

Oram's spot as an allrounder isn't really in question IMO, especially if you want to play Patel instead of O'Brien. I personally think Oram has more chance of taking test wickets than O'Brien anyway and while I do agree his batting is over-rated, he's quite important to the balance of the team now that Styris isn't bowling much, again especially if you're toying with the idea of two spinners.

In other news, Cumming and Martin added to the ODI squad to cover for Franklin. Why the hell is Cumming ahead of Papps in terms of one day cricket? Have a look at their records for crying out loud!

I like your optimism, but I reckon South Africa could declare overnight and win this Test. New Zealand are just crap against pace.

Fulton is missed IMO.

O'Brien out Patel in.

Papps or Cummings for Vincent.

A good bowling effort but the batting besides Fleming was atrocious, I drank my troubles away watching this at the pub last night, should have definitely scored more runs than that regardless of the conditions.

Hmm that is true. Keep Oram and bring in Patel. Prehaps put McCullum ahead of Oram in the batting order though.

The reason Cumming is ahead of Papps is the selectors went drinking and tossed a coin. Thats my theory anyway. I hope to see Papps play ODI's again. If Martin plays an ODI I'm going to cry.

And yes we are missing Fulton. I'd back him and Fleming to be our top scorers out of the top 6.

Only a 5 wicket innings could possibly sway me into giving O'Brien another game. Not good enough for this level in my opinion.

And the openers have been dire the whole tour, unless both of them perform in the next innings then one should be dropped.

He's scored stuff all but hes better than his average in the teens is saying. Not much better mind you.

Loving the preview of the NZers here. These two are going to put the commentators curse on the yarpies at this rate and we'll storm through and take this test with a day to spare. keep going you overconfident journos!
