I'm not knocking Gillespie's batting, but things must be dire if he has been one of the star batsmen so far for them.
Yeah well his shown application this season, whereas the rest of the them have fallen apart when they seen some half decent bowling. Elliott has stood up at the top of the order though.

Anyway Lehmann gone. What do you reckon we have to do so Bracken gets dropped from the ODI squad. Surely there has to be a way. Maybe bring Noffke to NSW?

Does a baggygreen come in a brown paper bag?

I kind of wish we got smashed, atleast that way we might see some more changes. Can't see us getting too far with this team, unless a couple players put in some exceptional performances. Even then we probably still lose. Too many weaklinks in this side.

On the Cowan thing his as talented as any batsmen in state cricket. But seems to struggle to make big scores after getting starts. He had the same problem at the start of his grade career. So i guess its just something as fans you have to be patient about.

I can kind of understand why people might think his a middle order batsmen the way he bats and gets himself out. Also the fact that he looked a bit more comfortable when he batted in the middle order. But I think a lot of has to do with the fact that he seems to bat with more confidence when he got a confidence player at the other end.

When he started opening for NSW, Jaques was bit out of form and it seemed to effect his batting. When he played grade cricket for Uni, he only took off when Matt Phelps opened the batting with him and took a lot of pressure away. When he started for NSW in the middle order he generally batted around Katich, Thornley and Haddin when they were all in form, so he seemed to bat with more confidence. Its an interesting aspect to his batting, but it seems to be something he has had his whole career. Not sure if its something that improves with experience, as he has the technique already, just seems to lack temperment from time to time.

Think N.S.W. are about to realise how much they rely on Jaques. If Katich doesn't score big every game they're in trouble...:)

Jaques, Clarke, Lee, Clark and MacGill tbh. I hate the Australian selectors, pick someone of the the ****s from a different state. Your still going to win.

Yeah, but only MacGill has really been consistently playing for them the last few seasons, whereas Jaques has been all but full time.

Drop peter forrest 3 failures and bats too slow, drop lambert the openers bat too slow and cowan bats faster.O'keefe bowled well deserves more opprtunity.
Would say we are out of the tournament now, even if we win the last 6 games i doubt we will qualify,28/30 seems to be the qualifying points to make the final, well it has in the past.

I know his figures at times havent been too impresive (ie tonight), but I'm really impressed by what I've seen of Mark Cameron so far, think he has the makings of a very good bowler at domestic level. Very handy pace (people talk about Bollinger being express but Cameron's actually consistenly a bit quicker, he's been around 140kph all the time in the games I've watched), very fit, good action and he's shown the ability to nip the ball around and be a real handful.
I think he's one to keep an eye on.

Thought Bracken was immense this evening. Bowled about two bad balls all night.

Also good to see Thornely in the runs and I guess Cullen taking wickets.

Redbacks finally manage to register some points this season and they played well today and deserved to win, just loved Cosgrove innings he took his chances after getting hit on the elbow but the big man surely striked the ball cleanly today and Elliott held the innings together with a good knock, i was impressed with the way Cullen bowled today his bowling had good loop and drift and the ball which he bowled to dismiss Cowan was an absolute peach.

Cosgrove looks bigger every time I see him, looks to be carrying an elbow injury as well.
Yeah he got hit on the elbow by a bouncer from Cameron and after that he just cut loose, Cosgrove definitely seems to be getting more rollier-pollier everytime i see him, but on a more serious note i think he is a very big talent (8-))!!

It's possible to be portly yet still deceptively fit.

Interestingly Cosgrove has, according to the CA website, lost 6 kilo's since last season. He's listed as 175cm and 89kg....whereas last year it was 95kg (dont ask me why I remember that).
