City score five.

Torquay lose, a son of Brian Boru sinking the green slime (thats happened before this season, I think, great family, tbh), I make that a fairly decent footballing day:)
I can't argue with that. Also amused to see Leeds lose.

Like tom said, wouldnt taken the draw before kick off, gutting to lose it so late though. Only saw bits n pieces as i was working, but from what i did see i'd say it was a fair result

Draw probably was fair, yeah. Felt like a win with the late leveller, but on reflection we've dropped points at home to one of our biggest rivals for the title.

On the plus side we've now had two serious work-outs and remain unbeaten. I'm still keeping steadfastly agnostic about our chances, but if we're still on top come yuletide I might just just start to believe.

Credit to Fergie in his interview. He didn't have the temerity to claim it wasn't a goal, which is refreshing.

Our old issues about not scoring have definitely become more apparent against better quality oppo tho. We can pass the ball into the net against Slavia Prague all we want, but when we come against a competent team who play who two banks of four in front of us we struggle.
He'd be quite foolish to claim it wasn't a goal. It quite clearly was by any stretch of the imagination. The ball clearly went past the line. Clearly.

1 point from Emirates is a good result, and now that I've calmed down a bit I'm pretty content, however it'll still grate on me that we were so, so close to those 3 points.

Clearly. :p

It didn't seem to stop van der Saar having a moan though, although obviously he hadn't had the benefit of the replay. It was a goal, but still a brave shout by the lino, could've quite easily swallowed it.

Way to make a liar of me Siralex. From the BBC: Ref favoured Arsenal rages Fergie.

"I think Howard Webb has a great chance to be the top referee but today was a big game for him and, at times, he favoured Arsenal," Ferguson told MUTV.

"Their second goal came from him not giving a free-kick for a foul on Louis Saha. It should've been a foul for us."

Just when you think the old client might finally be evolving into a halfway decent human being. Webb favoured us so much he ignores Vidic grabbing Hleb's shirt in the box in the first-half & Brown pushing Hleb over in the build-up to ManUre's first goal.

Tbf though, Fergie has a point. The decision for the Saha foul was ridiculous.

And both of the other decisions you mentioned were correct IMO.

Nah. Vidic definitely grabbed hold of Hleb's shirt in the box: penalty. Just because they're rarely given doesn't mean that the decision is anymore correct. Referees should start giving them and maybe defenders would stop being able to cheat with seeming impunity.

Brown's push was marginal, yes, but if Saha's was a foul then so was that.

Webb could've quite easily sent Evra off too; he'd already been booked when he lunged at Eboue. If he hadn't have had that first yellow it was a caution every day of the week.

It's just another example of Taggart putting unfair pressure on referees. Webb had a good game, bit officious in the first-half, but not really biased. Ferguson just wants to put pressure on him for when manure next get him in a big match.

Brumbers points were marginal decisions that went manures way, so it's ridiculous to talk of any bias.

Disgraceful that he's always let to get away with it. I thought direct criticism of refs was an offense, why's he not charged with disrepute?

If everyone started giving penalties for those kinds of things, no problem. But they don't, so you can't ask expect it to be a penalty when it's not given anywhere else.

Saha's was actually a foul on him IMO, he didn't foul anyone. As for Evra, can't remember the incident.

I don't think he was biased, but Webb had an utterly **** game. Bad decisions for both sides, though I disagree with Brumby's view of the ones he mentioned.

The Liverpool/Blackburn game IMO was just as good as the Arsenal/United clash only thing no goals where scored when at least 5 should have been. Good to see Stevie G looking like the driving force in the reds mid-field again in the last 2 league matches since he was looking awful for them and England before.

Thats SAF for you, but i agree didn't see anything wrong with the ref work yesterday..

Oh, he did. The commentators were pointing it out everywhere and I think even Arsenal fans would agree on it, at least up to the point that there was a goal for United.

But I don't think that the game ended with an unfair result.
