United will be more than happy with this. Lots of pretty, but ultimately fruitless passing from us in the middle of the park, but we look a bit light up front with Abebayor on his own with only Hleb for (nominal) support.

Which would have been a nonsense penalty, a foul anywhere outside the area no doubt but given you never see them given for penalties, would have been extremely harsh.

Okay I wouldn't of giving it. Yet to admit it's a foul in the box, suggests it wouldn't of been nonsense.

Unfortunately a foul in the box is not the same as a foul outside of the box, and in the interests of being fair, never a penalty.

In terms of clear-cut chances, should be 1-1, header was poorly directed, anywhere else a goal. VDS didn't really save it, it hit him.
