Can someone remind the last time Thornley got runs. Gun innings by Haddin, but man we have a weak batting line up ATM. I hate the defensive attacks of batting Katich at 5 as well. Either him or Thornley should open, with Jaques out of the side.

My ideal top 6 ATM:
Katich, Cowan, Forrest, Haddin, Thornley, Hughes

Don't see the point in playing Lambert if you have five bowlers either. Hopefully with the 2nd XI match this week, a couple of the youngsters can hit some form, especially Mosies and we can see the last of Lambert.

The plan was to start him off playing 2nd XI matches and then see how he develops. If he plays well and warrant selection then they were going to pick him. Rather then just pick him on potential.

Lambert was always going to play a major role this season, if Jaques got called up. As they ear marked him as Jaques replacement at the top of order in ODs, until Phil Hughes was ready.

The selectors were going for a caution first approach with a few of these youngsters, as they didn't want to have 4-5 in the side at once. In theory its a good approach, but you still have to win games. Also there isn't too many youngsters who will wait around forever to get selected. Just look how many guys move Interstate at a young age.

Moey has been named in a couple of squads. He was kept out with injury though. Should be back soon. Please do away with Lambert.

I don't get what Henriques has done wrong though; he took 5/17 in like his second FC match, and hit that 43* in OD beforehand. Given that he's been given plenty of praise, you'd think they'd give him a longer run.

He was injuries after those performances and hasn't really yet been 100% fit since. When he was around the squad at the back end of last season, he had niggling injuries. At the start of this season he got another set of niggling injuries. I guess with the CA Cup the selectors can see how well he gets through 3 days straight of cricket. Which you don't always see in Grade Cricket. I reckon once his 100% fit again, he will get a decent run, especially if NSW can't pull together some wins.

Go Haddin, definately in the form of his life, would be criminal if he isn't playing for Australia regularly from now on. Best option i'd say is Gillto retire from ODI's to prolong his career for another year or so & get Haddin in while he is hot.

Young Moey should be back in blue soon. He's played Grade cricket for the last couple of weekends and has been impressive. In his last game he helped St. George to a win by scoring 58 and taking 5/43 in their last Grade game, and in their last LO game he scored 38 off 32. So he seems to be doing well. Can't wait to have him back, he's a deadset gun.

Has Lambert been around killing families or something? Had a decent innings yesterday.

He isn't good enough to be in the team considering his age...I don't hate him, I just love Moey. Bring in the young blood. Moey needs as much time in state cricket as possible. He's proven he can cut it at that level and keeps performing at Grade level. Probably the most exciting young talent in Australia, so he needs to see a lot of state cricket.

I think Henriques should be given a fair run in the NSW first XI as there is no doubt in his potential, while playing for his state side he can gain a lot of experience and while playing state cricket he can only improve so i think being patient with him is important and one shouldn't expect instant results from him, but he is definitly a talent for the future.

One guy who has caught my eye for some time is George bailey, whenever i look at a Tassie scorecard most of the times he contributes very well and he seems to very consistent at that but still you don't hear much about him he is almost like an unsung hero, i haven't seen him bat too many times but whenever i have seen him bat he has come across as a solid bat, so just wanted ask you guys how good is he and where does he stand at this point in his career?

Yes, he is very good. Quite under-rated; he's racked up some good numbers in the past few seasons and his technique seems to get better every season. He's quite a treat to watch. He's probably just outside what would be the Australia A team but he's still young and improving so fast that it wouldn't shock me at all to see him have a career for Australia.

 As soon as you I read what you wrote about Henriques I was going to mention Bailey. He is a fantastic player who probably needs to convert his excellent 60s and 70s into 100s before he gets mentioned in the next tier of players.

I saw him play QLD at the GABBA in a 4 dayer at the start of the season and I was more impressed watching him get 78 then Divers get 150 plus. Bailey looks like a young Ponting. I think he's going to become a very good player..

Bailey is a very creative player and I'm almost certain he'll represent Australia in One Day cricket....Very good at improvising shots, can hit the ball a long way and scores very quickly. He doesn't have the strongest technique, but is certainly one of the best batsmen to watch going around in state cricket.

I agree tbh, Henriques appears to be doing everything he possibly can in grade cricket, he has seized his limited oppurtunities at FC level so far, and he is clearly a player of the future. Taking those things into account I think its almost criminal of the NSW selectors not to have him in there  ...he's clearly too good for grade cricket and he needs fresh challenges if he's gonna keep improving. Lambert dosent do much wrong, but he's never going to be more than a utility player at FC level really, he's not the sort of guy who will ever win you a match on his own whereas Henriques appears to have potential to do that and more.
