Yeah, ex-Liverpool & Spuds player bound to be objective where the Arse are concerned.

I'd have taken the draw with twenty minutes left, but some worrying signs about our old fragility in front on goal surfaced again today.
Indeed, they'll have to finish a bit better then that next week.

On other news Alonso has done his metatarsal again. These papier-mache shoes they wear nowadays are just getting silly.

Surprised Brumby hasn't mentioned how well the Spurs played :p

Loving it that Cahill is back, from the ESPN report, it sounds like he pretty much picked up where he left of last season (except he didn't score), did anyone see the Everton game?

Think you might have to go on overseas sites to get fair odds itbt. Can't believe the odds on English sides considering
a) Middlesbrough is the last team to do well and they were creamed in the final
b) An English side haven't won it since 1983-84
c) There's eight teams coming down from the CL, including most likely Liverpool and Lyon.

Edit: bwin.de offers 15-1.
Liverpool's 2001 triumph been annulled? :p

Mickey Mouse Treble was the worst thing to happen to football since I've been watching it, gave Scouse fans the impression that the Mickey Mouse Cup and the second division of European footie mean something.

Forever known as the greatest achievement in sport on the red side of merseyside.

Or the plastic treble elsewhere.

LOL @ you Mancs. I would sa fair enough, but y'know, they can always come back and ask you how many Leagues/European cups you have won? Any three trophies is always an achievement IMO, and don't forget, only Arsenal had ever won both domestic cups before them.

The big question is, have either side ever won the Welsh cup? Didn't think so

Meh, it was Mickey Mouse but it was still three real trophies - what really gets me about the scousers is their insistence on counting Charity Shields and Super Cups as real trophies.

As they insist on reminding us constantly, they are the most successful of all English football clubs - they are the last club that should have to be reduced to clinging to the Charity Shield to demonstrate their "silverware."

Were only 2 league titles behind them. Ok so they've won 3 European cups more, and dont deny that at the time they won the first 4 they were the best team in Europe. If were including the FA cup as a big trophey, we can claw 4 back there (11 to their 7).

Fact of the matter is, they havent won the league in 17 years. We've won 9 in that time.

In the last 20 years, we've got 9 titles, 5 FA Cups, 2 League Cups, and 2 European Trophys (1 CL and the 1991 cup winners cup).
They've won 2 titles, 4 FA Cups, 3 League Cups and 2 European Tropheys (1 CL, and 1 UEFA).

Any Liverpool fan who tries to use their history to put us down gets royally laughed at tbh.

Fair dos, however the Mickey Mouse Treble was only hyped due to their jealousy of the real Treble, and that's what annoys me.

They played all right tbh and Super-Brad per usual kept us in the game. Rovers didn’t deserve the three points but I frooze my bollocks of yesterday and thankfully it wasn’t for nothing. Went absolute ape **** when Samba scored, great stuff.

Interesting that Valencia have sacked their manager, odds that Jose Mourinho will be signed as the new manager? Asier del Horno might be worried...

West Ham linked with a £5m for current Juventus and ex-Chelsea and Lyon midfielder Tiago Mendes. Juve considering bringing in Aston Villa stopper Olaf Mellberg, especially that he his available on a free transfer so he could be sold in January.

See that Brazil have the 2014 WC.

Regarding all this talk about a Great British team in the Olympics... even if it did go ahead with the approval of all involved, would any of the non-English players make the top side? Who would go out, who would come in? Now that Giggs isn't involved I can't see it being anything but an English side.
