BARNES OUT
Oram's a bloody good player IMO.
He is for sure, but Watson is better in ODI cricket. In Tests it's Oram obviously, as he has been playing them for a while now.Oram's a bloody good player IMO.
Regardless of whether a member is banned, left the site, or otherwise, comments like that are completely uncalled for. Don't do it.**** Fiery. Hope he dies in a fire. Soon.
Oram will win you games, no doubt, but he hasn't been consistent enough and that is reflected in his average. 22.75 is very poor for somebody who comes in late in the innings and has a chance to remain unbeaten, and his strike rate isn't too flash either, compared to other players who bat in that position. They're very different players. Oram's pretty much the player Australia wanted Watson to be when he was younger. A big hitter, hit the seam type bowler. Statistically Oram seems a poor player but his value goes beyond that. He wins you games.
Rate Watson higher because I believe he has much more left in him potential wise, and I love watching him bat, whereas I think Oram has probably shown us everything he has (he'll never bat better than he did in that ODI vs. Aus at the WACA last year, IMO).
If they both stay on the field it'll be an interesting duel to see over the next 5 or so years.
Watson would be too scared that he'd mess his hair up. It'd end with the game of monopoly. Watson doesn't look too intelligent but if he gets some luck and a few streets he may challenge Oram.Nah, don't think he would. Watson is pretty built, Oram has the advantage of being taller. Besides, Oram wouldn't hurt a fly.
I think it was a case of putting the toe over the line one time too many.I still see no real explanation for why he was banned, unless the offending posts were deleted. He did say that Richard Hadlee was good enough to bat at Number 3 if he hadn't been a bowler, but beyond that, nitto.
They probably have been deleted. I think his first ban, for 7 days, was for bringing down the forum atmosphere and think accusing dontcloseyoureyes of being a homosexual.I still see no real explanation for why he was banned, unless the offending posts were deleted. Accused the whole AFL Thread of being gay IIRC. Myself of course included. They probably have been deleted. I think his first ban, for 7 days, was for bringing down the forum atmosphere and think accusing dontcloseyoureyes of being a homosexual.
He'd probably be able to handle New Zealands test schedule a little easier too.I'd say Watson will be pretty average with the ball in tests, he's probably the most innocuous bowler >140kmph in the world, and will probably have an average of around 35.
He has the ability to take a good bag if the conditions are conductive to him, but on a flat deck he's not going to blast anyone out and is most likely just going to bowl to keep it tight. Would be interesting to see them switch home countries, I think Watson would enjoy bowling much more in New Zealand than on our decks at the moment. Bit more moisture about in there air over there as well.
Haha yeah. Could break his neck in the 4th dig and be right for the next test they played. He'd probably be able to handle New Zealands test schedule a little easier too.

A couple of spinners have been mentioned before, but the most obvious one is Sonny Ramadhin. Up to the first innings of his 29th test he had 120 wickets, and then from the second innings of that Test he had 38. The two men who figured him out? May and Cowdery. After that 411 stand and the 98 overs he bowled in the innings he was never the same again.
