Yeah, and how come the thread asking about it got deleted (well, I think it did...)?

can you accuse black african country like kenya etc of racism?? They don't want the whites there but its not because of racism. India is similarly a 'colored' country and hence not racist theoretically.
Sorry, racism is not defined exclusively as a paler race discriminating against a darker skinned one. That is one of the most common types of racism, yes, but not the sole sort.

why was timmy banned?
Yes i would also like this question to be answered properly...as far i have seen, some people are just too soft and dont seem to be able to handle the truth.
Has sideshowtim been banned??!!
If yes was he warned before being banned?
I wondered why he was banned too, but I guess this explains it.
All the posts surrounding the troll have been deleted
This is one banning that should be supported by all. He was quite something.
I'd not have minded seeing the posts, but I guess we can take the boss' and SJS's word that they were pretty bad.

I have said it before on the forum and I will say it again. There is no place for racism in sport. How the perpetrators of racism intended it isn't very important. It was racism, pure and simple. I didn't know killing some one with a knife is murder. Does that make me less of a murderer? Ignorance is no excuse really. I don't know why a few people are focussing on what might be the reasons for the people making the monkey noises. That is not the moot point here. Racism in any form needs to be shunned and in that, I am sure every one agrees.

I don't condone racial abuse of Andrew Symonds but this whole thing could have been easily avoided if he had been a lot more circumspect.

By opening his big mouth about how humble the Aussies were relative to the Indians (which honestly is the biggest load of codswallop I've heard), he wasn't exactly going to endear himself to the Indian players/crowds.
He should have shown a lot more common sense and decorum and I think he may have saved himself a lot of trouble.

In any case Australia are the best team in the world....sure they perform but I don't see why they need to make comments like what Symonds made....it showed a total lack of sportsmanship and grace This is the think that really irks me about the Aussie players....they need to show their moral superiority in addition to their cricketing one.
The latter IMO is more than enough.
I haven't heard a single Aussie official or publication censuring Symonds for that. Which is very , very disappointing IMO.
If India want to go overboard with their celebrations that's their problem - no skin off my nose.
Australia IMO have to take some of the blame for the bad blood that has existed in this series.
Here we go again. A sub-continent team/fans/media is blatantly out of order and rather than condemning it we have fans applying twisted logic to vindicate it. Even worse, they end up blaming the victim!

Symonds was racially abused, he was annoyed and let the world know. Good on him!

Yes, you can. Racism isn't just a white person saying something nasty to a black person. Justify it any way you want, but all this 'they didn't know what they were doing, it wasn't meant to be racist' rubbish is getting a little too much. How many times did they have to be told? By the third incident, it should have been starting to sink in.

Different troll TBH. Not saying sideshowtim was anything like that, but I don't think that post from James about about him.

give ME a break.

When was I defending anyone? Making monkey noises is just not on in a cricket ground, whether it was meant in a racist or non-racist way. Just because you have an issue accepting the fact that racism doesn't exist in India, doesn't mean everyone has to accept that.

RAcism doesn't exist in India.
The monkey chants are never meant in the same racist manner in India as it MAY be elsewhere in the world.
Monkey noises are an emotive issue to Andrew Symonds
Therefore, Regardless of how it was meant, the idiots doing that have to be dealt with firmly.

That is my view on this issue.
This isn't a fact...

why should we accept that there WAS racism in India when there hasn't been?

And here are a few things that you can do:

Accept the fact that the problems happening are not just because of Indian supporters
Accept the fact that your media and players are blowing it out of proportion
Accept the fact that regardless of how well he has played, Symonds has been the biggest jerk on this tour.
Accept the fact that racism has never existed in India and it doesn't now.
Accept the fact that the authorities in ANY country, be it India or Australia, will be defensive about bad crowd behaviour in their country.

And above all, accept the fact that almost NONE of the Indian fans here have been as biased as you seem to think they are or at least as biased as you yourself are....

And neither is this...these are your opinions, just like it's my opinion that Sreesanth has been the biggest jerk on the tour.
