If truth be told.
If he's a good OD bowler (which I seem to recall he somewhat is) it makes perfect sense, really. The only thing that's silly is when you pick players who are poor at OD cricket and good at FC for ODIs "to ease him into the big-time". Because that's overwhelmingly likely to backfire, and has any number of times over here.Yeah, I know it's frowned upon here but I'd like to see him eased into international cricket in the one-day side for abit before we start thinking about him for Tests. Granted it's a completely different format, but it is the big time and I want to see him become a fixture there first especially over the summer. Was rather disappointed they didn't play him in India tbh.
i agreeI think Hogg should now be considered as Australia's no.2 spin option in test cricket after MacGill, Bailey is looking hopeless Cullen and Hauritz are good in 50 over cricket but they are nowhere near test standard atm.
So if MacGill doesn't perform, then i don't think there is any harm in giving Hoggy a decent run in test match cricket.
I rate Symo as a better batsman than WattoHayden
Jaques
Ponting (c)
Clarke
Hussey
Watson
Gilchrist
Lee
Johnson
Clark
MacGill
Provided there are no injuries, that should be the Test team.
I rate a 5 year olds intelligence as better than yours.I rate Symo as a better batsman than Watto
i also rate Symo as a better bowler than Watto
Yes, the harm is that he will be ineffective and give away runs while taking away overs from bowlers who could do a better job. MacGill is easily Australia's #1 spinner at the moment, while Hogg, Cullen, Bailey and Hauritz are all miles behind. If MacGill doesn't perform well enough then you shouldn't pick a sub-standard bowler just because he is a spinner, and I think Tait or Hilfenhaus would be bowling options if MacGill was ineffective.I think Hogg should now be considered as Australia's no.2 spin option in test cricket after MacGill, Bailey is looking hopeless Cullen and Hauritz are good in 50 over cricket but they are nowhere near test standard atm.

If Australia ever field that bowling attack I will do myself serious bodily harm.i agree
and that means in the 2nd test of the Border-Gavaskar series we could have a bowling attack of
Lee
Clark
Symonds
MacGill
Hogg
though i doubt it if Midge continues to bowl well and we'll just stick to Macca
if Australia ever play Watto again i will do myself serious bodily harmIf Australia ever field that bowling attack I will do myself serious bodily harm.
Daresay you'll be dead before too long.if Australia ever play Watto again i will do myself serious bodily harm
unfortunately i agree, selectors love himDaresay you'll be dead before too long.
As they should, given he's a quality player and a much better Test option than Andrew Symonds.unfortunately i agree, selectors love him
Wattos test hundreds prove thatAs they should, given he's a quality player and a much better Test option than Andrew Symonds.
Haha, no point arguing with you, as you obviously haven't got the slightest clue. Just another anti-Watson moron.Wattos test hundreds prove that
