***Official*** Australia in India

I agree but I think he just answered promptly ehrn asked without thinking about it. I suppose the question took him by surprise.

If he had said, as Slater suggested, "Look its over and done. It doesn't matter now" or words to that effect.
Agreed, I'm sure there was nothing malicious in it - I just hope it doesn't come back to bite him.

Nah that's alright, he's Australian. Even though that very match, Australia won because Hussey was given not out when he clearly was, screwing the English over.

I bet he had a few cans of beer to celebrate that one.

Considering they came extremely close on Sunday (and really have themselves to blame for that loss), and won two games, I'd say this series went better than most Indian fans would have thought.
I am afraid I am not one of those. I never play up the Indian side on this forum but I really thought that with a relatively new attack Australia would be brought down closer to India's level and we would see a hard fought series at home.

Australia have lost Warne, McGrath, Gillespie, Kasprowich from those who toured last time and there was no McGill as well. The batting was good but not looking THAT grat, honestly. India on the other hand had the entire batting intact with the exception of Sehwag, Yuvraj was in good nick and Sachin is playing his best cricket last 2-3 years. And before the series started, Pathan came back to allow for a more balanced side.

No. I doid not think India would win only 2 matches and also have such an inconsistent batting show.

I think India's problems have not reduced but are at least the same if not more than they were when Chappell left and thats not good.

Anyway you can ignore the posts that also quote posts from those you have on ignore? Cause out of the last eight pages, four are pure verbal vomit.

SJS, we're talking ODIs here right?

Well the last time Australia toured India playing ODIs (not including the Champions Trophy) Australia actually didn't have Warne, McGrath, Gillespie or Kasprowicz. They were all injured I believe. Lee too.

Australia smashed the crap out of India in that series (tri-series with NZ). Their bowling line-up was something like Williams, Bracken, Bichel and Hogg (if my memory serves me correctly). India only won one match against Australia during that tour.

I think in a 6 match series (discarding the first) on Indian soil, this current Australian team is a 4-2 better team, and its a fair reflection of the gulf between the two teams in terms of talent (yes I understand it was a dead rubber, but if you're telling me Australia didn't want to win that game tonight, then you're wrong IMO. Look at their reactions when a) they fought back and ripped apart India's top order, and b) when India started to crawl back into the match).

You ahve to remember India hadn't beaten Australia in a ODI since 2004 until this tour. Now they've won two, and came extremely close on Sunday in what I believe was a good effort.

Are there still plenty of flaws in the Indian ODI team? Yes, for some reason they've never been able to fix them, and maybe they won't. But I think they're a better team now then they have been for many years, barring possible the first half of 2004 when Laxman, Tendulkar, Ganguly and Dravid were all peaking.

Thread is dying...

Nightprowler? SJS? Turd?!

Haha, will laugh if Jono went to bed.
Damn missed this game just like most of the games this series, because of school :(. Must have been a treat for all those who got to watch.

Congrats India well done! Kartik is (what you Aussies call) gun  .

And congrats Australia for winning the series, too bad you couldn't win the last game to push forward the momentum :p.

Congrats to Australia on winning this series but also good to see Indian lower order putting up a good fight today to end the series with a win.

Yep. Everyone should walk. How can someone bat and celebrate a century when they know they haven't fully deserved it?
I like Hussey's approach.. good with the bad, those are the breaks.

Walking, or better yet the obligation of having to walk is rubbish. It's a slippery slope, and does your team a disservice. I think one could make a better argument for not allowing to 'walk' altogether than having to.

I'm glad those 2 morons were caught on the photo.. just goes to show there are idiots everywhere.

I wish I was in the stands.. as an Indian, I would risk getting kicked out to put an end to that.

True, as far as I'm concerned they're in the same boat as the footy fans who leave at 3/4 time when their footy team is losing.

Sport is a weird thing, anything can happen at any stage.

Anyone remember those fans that left during the India vs. England Nat West Series final after Tendulkar got out? India were 5/150 chasing 310-320, and even with Yuvraj and Kaif at the crease (fair enough they were noobs then) they walked out.

Sucks to be them, just like it sucks to be the ones that left tonight. Missed a pretty cool match.

Depends on the situation of the game. Silly if you left early in the game last night. However Port Adelaide fans could not have been blamed for walking out at half time of the AFL Grand Final.

After 9 long years India won a match against Australia batting second. The last time India won a match against Australia chasing was the 1998 Coca-Cola cup final match on April 24th(Sachin's birthday) at Sharjah where Sachin scored two consecutive centuries.(143,134).

Glad we won. Some good batting with the tail helped the cause. I put on 30 bucks when India were 70/6 and god i am rich this day, can't wait for my betting on T20 now.

Good stuff. Poor form from a select few (the usual suspects) Aussie fans in here. Embarrassing stuff from some of those fans in Mumbai, though I don't understand the big deal about the supposed "Aussies suck" chant. Cricinfo has been harping about it but that's the most harmless chant ever. Don't get it.

Considering **** decisions cost India heavily against England only a few weeks ago, I think its decent that they get a bit of luck on their side. You can't control these things.

Sachin got 3 horrid decisions in England, two of them in the 90s!
I agree, but I do think this series shows up the people who suggest that Australia get the balance of umpiring decisions because they bully umpires, that umpires are biased to Australia, and/or that umpires are racist and thus biased against many of Australia's opponents, and because of one or more of these factors Australia win more than they should.

The reality is that Australia have been generally the better side throughout this series, though India have been very competitive, and India have clearly got the balance of umpiring decisions. I'm certainly not particularly upset about that or anything, as that's how cricket goes, but it does annoy me when the conspiricy theorists you see on this forum sometimes ignore series like this, and I'm sure if Australia get a bit of luck in either home series this summer they'll be back in full force.

No, we've reached an accord in the Sri Lanka in Australia series thread that the two umpires for the Aus-SL tests are the two umpires SL fans would have chosen themselves if given the chance, and thus there'll be no claims of bias or caving in under pressure should luck go against SL during those tests! ;)

Shame that Symonds had to face the "monkey chants" and racial taunts again, pathetic behaviour from the Indian crowd and this time around proper action needs to be taken against them.
Anyways good win for India, it was Kartik's game yesterday and its fitting enough that he ended on the winning side, but obviously it was disappointing to see the Aussies lose.
