I did not write that post for any such reason. Never thought of it. Relax.

I was just mentioning a fact because I too was surprised that one paper should give such prominence to Dhoni's defense of Dravid while all others should make it sound as if he was deliberately being tight lipped about it.

But you really are very sweet. I loved all the sentiments in that post.

Birds hit a plane carrying both the Australian and Indian cricket teams

THE Australian cricket team was involved in a minor emergency yesterday when its plane was forced to return to Nagpur Airport after hitting several birds, believed to be eagles.

The birds were sucked into both engines just after the 8.55am take-off.

Ricky Ponting's men knew they were in a spot of bother after the plane's captain announced there was "some bad news".

"We have hit a number of birds and this may have damaged an engine. We will need to return to Nagpur for maintenance," the pilot said.

The Jet-Airways plane was carrying a full load en route to Mumbai, including both the Indian and Australian squads and touring media.

Passengers were served breakfast as the plane sat on the tarmac for 30 minutes as attempts were made to repair the engine.

The Australians eventually took to the skies at 1.30pm local time.

It was another twist in an eventful tour for the Australians, with Andrew Symonds racially abused by spectators and players embroiled in sledging controversies.



My guess is the birds also wanted to give Ponting a peck on the cheek as well. Boy, did they get sucked in.

Not a huge amount of interest in the game tomorrow unless Hilfenhaus plays. If we were 5-0 then it'd be exciting going for the whitewash but 5-1 or 4-2 makes little difference. Hopefully it won't be a flat pitch either.

TBH I reckon Hodge could get a ton tomorrow and Mitch take an expensive none-for and it wouldn't make too much difference. I'd say the selectors know now if they're going to pick Johnson for the 'Gabba or not (it's a yes for me) and Symonds as the incumbent Test no.6 and in such superlative ODI form will be given at least the Sri Lanka double header to consolidate his position in the Test side.
