Yes he did say it but I am not sure he meant it as a comment on Dravid;s batting. He would have known what the follow up questions would be - why are you not dropping Dravid etc etc. I think he did the smart thing by cutting it in the bud.
I too felt initially that he would have been better off saying something like Dravid has had a bad run and its no big deal but then I realised that he must have known what the reporter was trying to get at.
In another headlines in the Hindustan Times he says

"He is going through a tough time in the series. It happens with all batsmen. It has happened to Sachin and to me too. It is not an issue and he will be back in form."
