Richard's not an Aussie.I always knew that you Aussies were an inherently soft lot.
Not if you're a smoker.
Do me a favour.
Bah!

meaning going out to watch cricket is no longer supposed to be a fun day out...here's good reasons for most of the above, TBH. The wave was banned as it'd become dangerous; smoking being banned is never a bad thing; musical-instruments and banners can be disruptive; and while having to buy sponsors' products and sit through ads is regrettable, it's pretty much inevitable. The restrictions on stuff you can bring in, too, are a sad inevitability of the times we now live in.
This is already the case at plenty of other grounds around The World and will only increasingly become so as the years roll on.
I live outside Hyderabad now. I wish I was there. Cheers.Kool Man Even Am from Hyderabad... U been to the match between India Vs Aus?
Well it may be supposed to be, but it often isn't, unfortunately.meaning going out to watch cricket is no longer supposed to be a fun day out...
Really? He quoted you. There's too much reading involved.Sir Nev's post about "you Aussies" wasn't directed at me TBH.
You'll have to admit though, to quote and reply to something without actually talking to the person you've quoted is rather unusual. If I'd quoted someone else and wasn't actually talking to them would that make sense?Do not believe that the relationship between the quote and who is being spoken to is without vary.
Here, for instance, I'm speaking to you, but there's not a quote to be seen.
Never knew you were a Delhi man TBH, thought you were a Mumbaiker.I voted for Feroze Shah Kotla which really has been a lousy ground for almost its entire existence but there are simply too many emotions attached.
- Its the ground where I watched my first ever test match in February 1961. I was all of 11 years old. (my 11th birthday was during the match)
- Its the ground where I played my first senior division league game as 12th man who had to play in the 11 because someone did not turn up as a 15 year old
- It is the ground where I played Bishen Bedi for a few overs and survived (getting out to Suresh Luthra)
- Its where I took my sons (just four and five then) to watch me play and go back and brag in school that their dad played where Gavaskar and Kapil did
- Its where I have watched most of my international games and more importantly, where I have stood close to the nets and watched greats like Dexter, Cowdrey and Barrington, Reid and Sutcliffe, Sobers, Kanhai and Hunte, Ian Chappell and Doug Walters, Viv Richards and Roberts and derived more pleasure than from any game of cricket.
I love that ground as much as I hate its being a complete shambles.
Its being renovated now for sometime. Must go and have a look one of these days.
Possibly, I may be out of touch with this sort of speak.I disagree, I feel it's distinctly Marlowe-esque.
Anyway, yeah Sir Nev's comment was a bit off-the-cuff, but I assure you, he's well aware I'm no Australian!
I lived in Delhi for 35 years. From my birth till March 1985Never knew you were a Delhi man TBH, thought you were a Mumbaiker.
Really when was that? What a coincidence, your change of location coincided fairly soon to my birth.
